There's no mint in this and apart from the spice there is a boatload of tobacco and vanilla. Maybe you have a contaminated sample or a fake/ mislabeled sample/bottle which ever may be the case.

Maybe they ended up giving you the wrong parfum sample but told u it was TV? TV is huge on vanilla and decent on tobacco, lasts a few days if u don't touch the area sprayed...

Walk in to a retail cigar humidor and you know what TF should smell like

Tobacco vanille smells like tobacco and vanilla to me, though there probably are other ingredients.

Actually, I can see that. I think a lot of what we perceive about a fragrance is shaped by its name, its marketing, and what other people tell us about it. As an example, I never noticed that grapefruit can be perceived to smell sweaty, that rose can actually smell like lemon, or that Mona di Orio's Cuir actually smells like chorizo, until someone pointed it out to me. And I still wonder if people would be so skeeved about Secretions Magnifiques if it had a more acceptable name and the notes were listed as metal, melon, flowers, sandalwood, and opoponax.

Maybe it just doesn't align with your notions of what tobacco and vanilla should smell like. No crime in that.

Sometimes if you smell something new very briefly and in passing, you get the wrong impression. Sometimes your nose/brain needs to warm up to a scent to start recognizing the notes. Repeat testing and take your time.

I could see you not getting any tobacco... I could see you mentioning honey... but you lost me when you said you smelled no vanilla.

The main note I get from TV is cherry: Far more than either tobacco or vanilla.

i have to say. a long few hours later, the drydown is pure vanilla! i still smell the honey-sweetness but it is in the background now.
i will follow your advice and smell it again, taking my time now that i'm more prepared for what it is.

    thank you very much.

The last time I wore it I picked up a 'cherry cough syrup' note in the opening, which thankfully was short-lived

Took me a while to find the vanilla! I used to only smell tobacco and honey. Now the vanilla is very obvious to me.

I don't get a great deal of tobacco out of it but it is a monster in terms of vanilla and honey - to my nose, honey is the dominant element

old thread but I had to post this. I got here from google after searching 'all i get from tobacco vanille is honey'. I get no tobacco or vanilla. It smells exactly like tabac rouge I had for a short while about a year ago. I also get something that tickles my nose - something minty like someone mentioned earlier. The first 2 hours, I feel like I am dipping my nose in a honey pot. weird.

I got that same 'minty' note in Tabac rouge but I assumed it was the ginger. I'm at a loss now.

Give it at least one or two more tries. I went through the same thing when I first tried it. Eventually you will get a dark boozy vanilla with tobacco. A very nice fragrance with chameleon tendencies.

I got a recent sample of TV from a nordstroms and it was much different than my previous experiences with it. The tobacco and vanilla are definitely there but when I first sprayed it, it took a long time for the tobacco to show itself. I was getting mostly cinnamon and other spices. I have never got anything resembling mint from it though.

Never mint for me, and i dont get a honey vibe either. For what its worth I always found it to be much more spicy and tobaccoish than the vanilla candle that some seem to think as well. Although the dry down for sure is more coco vanilla sorta vibe. But for the first half of it way more spice and tobacco.
