IMO quite different.
I dont know why but I think they smell very similar to me.
They both have that initial burnt piece of wood smell
IMO quite different.
Nope. Not at all similar. I love the Turkish Delight that hits you in Royal Oud for the first minite or two. Other than that it is a nice middle of the road Oud for the time it lasts. (not long enough) Sycomore is a dark, smokey, dry masterpiece of a vetiver.
Not even in the same spectrum. There may be a blast of the same chemical that you are smelling, that is common between the two, but similar, no.
Not at all similar - except both great fragrances.
Chalk and cheese.
Basenotes Split: Amouage Beloved, OPUS VII and Interlude - Available Today
And another - no similarities I can discern
The 'warmth' in the beginning is maybe similair not in smell but in presence/concept/feel. If that makes any sense.
They are both awesome!
Never noticed any similarity and quite prefer the Creed.

I thin I should get my nose checked. or maybe its my sinus infection lol
Im going to dogpile on this one. Not only are these two fragrances extremely dissimilar but one is composed way better than the other. Sycomore is a far better fragrance in my opinion!
My current top ten:
1. Oud Wood
2. Spice and Wood
4. Pure Malt
5. Tonka Imperial
6. Dior Homme
7. Epic Man
8. L'air Du Desert Marocain
9. Noir de Noir
10. Terre D'Hermes
Do we need to search for your posts on BB.com, Attila?
OK, I'll just play it straight then............
Sycomore and Royal Oud? Not close.
OP was probably picking up on certain aromachemicals present in both fragrances. I don't find them all that similar but I too get those 'burnt wood' vibes from both fragrances from time to time.
