Thread: Your favorite tobacco? |
A classic note, tobacco has a long history in perfumery and lives on in many recent popular designer releases as well as in more challenging niche perfumes. Variations seem almost endless, ranging from sweet over smoky to moist or leafy green - but which fragrance contains the best tobacco note or represents the most rewarding interpretation of the rich and complex smell of tobacco?
My own vote goes to the heavily smoky and ambery interpretation in Fumerie Turque - but which one is your favorite? Maybe I didn't even list it?

Agree with Jon Rodgers on Herrera for Men - that is my favorite tobacco.
Life is too short to sample. Buy Blind| I am generally not interested in batch hunting or weak fragrances.

Tf tv
Versace Dreamer gets my vote. I love that fresh tobacco leaf/blossom note.
Larger Marks & Spencer stores in the UK have it - I don't know how much use that is...

Favorites include Tabac or Don Corleone by Profumo.it / Scents of the Soul (Abdes Salaam) and Amouage's Tribute Attar
With the common Vanilla companion - Tom Ford's TV or L'Artisan's Havana Vanille (since turned Vanille Absolument for a copyright claim on the name)
With florals and still masculine - Histories de Parfum's 1740 or Tubereuse III Animale, maybe even Xerjoff's Oroville, which has grown on me as a dry and herbal take on tobacco.
I keep hoping that Serge Lutens will focus on a great tobacco (since Fumerie Turque smells like a pool of sun-thickened cow piss to me). I love the tobacco in Sarassins and Voix Noire, but unfortunately it's a minor player in both.

I voted other - Diptyque Volutes EdT.
TF is more pipe smelling to me. More like cherry tobacco
Pure Havane is a right balanced tobacco gourmand.
Back to back has a back drop of tobacco and I enjoy it a lot. The honey is more dominant to my nose those and since I enjoy it my nose tends to focus on that note.
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
Mugler Pure Havane
by Kilian Back to Black
"Other" : Tom Ford for Men
I had to go with Baque for its rustic dried tobacco characteristics.
Guys, if you want something beside a pipe tobacco smell then you should wear Yosh Sombre Negre, which smells like rolling tobacco.
