L'Instant for work today.
"What is this secret connection between the soul, and sea, clouds and perfumes? The soul itself appears to be sea, cloud and perfume..." - from Zorba the Greek by Nikos Kazantzakis.
Well, I'm catching up with Friday Synch because I was a way for the weekend. It's was a good one last week, "Your most silent fragrance"
From the synch thread.....
Well, I have a cracker for this synch. L'Antimatière by Isabelle Doyen for Lez Nez. Barely a murmer. Hmm. I've had this sample for a long time. I can "get" it as a perfumers exercise in minimalism but I don't get it as something that you would buy or wear. Today I am helped along by Darvants timeous review. All very interesting and my nose is stuck to my wrist. It would have to be to smell this.
At first all I can smell is a faintly rubbery note, then salty amber, all in barely a whisper.
Good morning smellies. Where has the sun disappeared to?! It was so lovely and warm yesterday...
SOTD is Enchanted Forest from a sample. Loving it so far. Picture is Errol Flynn in tights I just couldn't resist.
Foustie, no whisper here. This might be a bit much for this early in the morning. I should move to a different time zone, or learn to apply less with YSL's Jazz.
Good morning all !. Treating the co-workers to a few subtle whiffs of Amouage Reflection today .
Happy Birthday Nukapai
L'HEURE BLEUE edt
Ungaro II for me. Yes, yesterday's sunshine has deserted us. Well, it was a nice Spring whilst it lasted.
Best to everyone.

Caligna by L'Artisan Parfumeur
HdP Mata Hari 1876 for a nice spring day. I hope, since it is only 6am.
Happy Hump day, all.
I'm trying out a sample of La Petite Robe Noire today, very interesting.
Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
Dior Dolce Vita for me.
Take care, all!
"I felt something so intense, I could only express it in a perfume." - Jacques Guerlain
Morning! We actually should finally be getting some sun and a bit of warmth today. Wheeee, 40s. Hard to believe how excited I am about hitting the 40s. Sad.
I'm testing Absolute por le Soir today. I have loved Cologne por le Soir, so I thought I should test Absolute. When I first spritzed it, I almost ran away from myself. Like nuh-uh. But it followed me. After 30 minutes it started to change my mind. Now it's starting to resemble Cologne, except it's not disappearing the way Cologne does.
Love the pic of Errol Flynn LadyM!
Hello all. PG Louanges Profanes
Good morning everyone -
I'm in Diorissimo, vintage-60s edt. Y'all have a wonderful day!
Science is not only compatible with spirituality, it is a profound source of spirituality. When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages, when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling, that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual. ..Carl Sagan
Barbara Bui EDP, which I don't usually wear 'out in the world', but which has already gathered a compliment and a "what IS that? where can I get it?" and the ensuing sadness when learning it is discontinued. It really is very pretty.
Hindu Grass by Nasomatto (from a sample from Barney's @ Vegas)
I get much more patchouli from it this morning...interesting how you can smell different things from the same scent when you smell it at different times.

Good Morning, everyone!
It's gloomy and chilly here, so to brighten things up SOTD is Jasmin de Nuit
Have a wonderful day, everyone!
Good morning. It's warmer today, but very windy.
Wearing Annick Goutal La Violette, another sample from a very sweet Basenote
member. I really like wearing violet in the spring, so pretty.
Have a great day!
Good morning, Basenotes family!
I'm wearing Penhaligon's Peoneve this morning as part of 30Roses's sample pass.
LOL, Twolf, you're not a wet blanket at all! I'm not so worried about the floral notes in Pivoine Rose (even if they don't smell of peony, lol!), but I am concerned about the musk. Drat that migraine association. GAH!
Mike, I'm heading back to Vegas at the end of May with one of my girlfriends -- I'm planning to spend a good deal of the first day in Barneys trying all the lines I don't know well, including Nasomatto. There are several that look interesting. Any recommendations?
Happy hump day, everyone!
Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."
Clarice Lispector ( 1920-1977) - Perfumes da Terra / Earth Perfumes
E., I love you too!
Back from a short- and freezing- trip to Basel & Strasbourg, in a milder and a bit sunnier Milan. I missed you!
SotD is Cuir Ottoman
"Your fragrance with a fume of iodine" L. Cohen
Slept late again, no fragrance as I am still a bit rocky/queasy but am headed out on a few errands.
Sunny, beautiful day here, but a little cool in the 30s.
Welcome back, iodine
SotE - Creed Royal Water.
I'm late to post today, but I did dab on some Ramon Monegal Entre Naranjos this AM prior to meeting. Now, this one I like, but I can hardly smell it now. It needs to be sprayed I think.
Anyone want to bump that Ramon Monegal sample pass thread up so I can quit talking to myself in it?
Amouage Shams Al Doha (Beautiful Dawn)
Love the pic of Errol Flynn and the reflection picture.
