Default Fragrances you like that noone's talking about...

That are not discontinued. Let's put others on to something new.. I continue to see the same frags discussed throughout the web, but there are plenty of new gems out there..

Eight + Bob very strong opening, projects quite well for the first 4-5 hrs in the cold; pine-y, citrusy opening and smooth vanilla drydown. 8hours, and it hasn't hit 60+ degrees yet so I could only imagine in the warmer months

Parfums de Marly- Pegasus; smooth throughout, and a nice vanilla from top to bottom

IMHO, its such a pity that the houses of Maitre Parfumeir et Gantier & Parfumerie Generale are often overlooked by many on BN, particularly the ones looking to expand their wardrobe (fortunately there are a few here who appreciate their frags) and on other forums as well. These 2 houses are prob the most underestimated of the niche houses and both are not too bad on your wallet either.

Apart from these 2, here are some overlooked / under-discussed frags:

    Or Black - Pascal Morabito
Nejma Aoud series & their Puro / Puro Intense - grt grt value for your $$$ (order directly from their website)
    Odori's Tabacco & Cuoio
Hilfiger Athletic (discontinued, but readily available on ebay / amazon) - a grt summer frag

The other day one of my friends passed by me at work and he smelled wonderful.
I was 100% sure it was Memoir Man, the smell was something strange, dark but fresh, sweet but dry, so I asked him but he didn't know the name. After two days he brought me a bottle as a gift , guys give this one a try very nice patchouli scent.

    Zara Man Gold....

    Amazing smelling fragrance for $17.

Top note is lemon; middle notes are cinnamon and praline; base notes are ebony tree and amber, though it isn't listed pineapple plays a prominent role in this fragrance.

The smell of this stuff is amazing, its almost a pineapple gummy bear vibe. The longevity on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired 5hrs maybe, projection is minimal as you can maybe smell it off yourself and that's it.

Even still when you are able to smell it on yourself you will enjoy every minute of it. I think this is good for year round.

Dune pour Homme, Dior; Xeryus de Givenchy; Miracle Homme de Lancôme.

These bad boys are rarely mentioned anywhere else than the odd top 10 list.
They are all still available - but preferable in vintage formulations. Of course!

The two houses that get no mention are Cale a fantastic Italian niche house. The other is Cerchi Nell'acqua, again another niche, the second brand from the House of Sigili. They specialize in linear scents (Whiteout and Ambr'ero are my faves)

A less expensive house is Ortigia-Sicilia, a very inexpensive and the scents are first class.

Guerlain Habit Rouge Sport - never hear anything about it, but I think it's a very nice scent. I think it suffers badly from the "sport moniker" (as do many others) and that it was a flanker of a long-time classic. Should've been named differently, but still think it's another quality frag from Guerlain.

I agree wholeheartedly with drseid and hedonist222 about Coeur de Vetiver Sacre and 34 Boulevard St. Germain - I've noticed in the past you two have been quite evangelical about these two fragrances that I happen to like a lot as well. Both are complex, well-constructed, and quite unique.

I've been intrigued by 1881 Black for the longest time. There is no place that stocks it so it would have to be a blind buy but the marzipan note that is listed is the thing I really want to experience, what is it like?

Noble Cedar too, is it properly woody?

Top of my list in this category would be Ted Lapidus's Black Soul. Yes, it shares some similarities with 1 Million, but I prefer this one by a mile. It's got a great mint/cinnamon/saffron, spicy combo on top of a sweet resinous/woody base of tolu balsam, raisins, and cedar. It's probably my favorite woody spicy/oriental fragrance in my collection, and I love this one. If you like scents like 1 Million, Spicebomb, Eau de Baux, or Tobacco Vanille, then I highly recommend giving Black Soul a try (and it can be had for $20-30 online).

Another that is overlooked, that I've enjoyed sampling recently is Perry Ellis 360 Black. (kind of like La Nuit with a tangy tamarind top note & a nice tobacco in the base). Also, dirt cheap online.

Pierre Cardin's apparently long forgotten Paradoxe, which would sell for around $200 per 50 ml today if a niche company marketed it, perhaps with a name like Welcome to Hades. It's got a bitter, dry, smoldering, leathery/peppery base.

I'm still new to this, but have gotten my nose on quite a bit of the "well-mentions" and this was love at first sniff, seriously, plus it projects like a beast and lasts 15 hours. Very soft, leather, wodds, musk, and a bit of smooth oud.

I bought NOBLE CEDAR and I love it. It is very well balanced and the cedar note is really beautiful. It lasts forever on your clothes. hednic also has it and mentions it sometimes. He likes it. It is a very good perfume and probably the best way to get a prominent cedar note. It is not expensive.

Yves Rocher Comme une Evidence Homme - great rose peppery scent , beats a lot of designer scents . What I like about it the most is that it has a light character but the longevity and sillage are above average . Pretty easy to wear also and can be found very cheap online .
