Thallium and Thallium Black. There's a Thallium Sport too, but I don't like that one as much. Black is spicier than the original, both are good, and can be bought for about $17 on Amazon.

I started reading about Cuir Pleine Fleur yesterday. It sounds great. I plan on ordering a sample and I'm almost tempted to buy it blind.

It's one of my favorites for sure. Violets, leather and a lovely mimosa note.

    Piment Brulant by L'Artisan perfumer.

Incredibly different from everything around; potent bell peppers and musk.

Marks & Spenser Autograph Intense; superb and very cheap

These two are particularly popular over @ Fragrantica. I like the Lanvin (ended up buying a bottle) but I didn't rate the Sculpture at all.

Noble Cedar too, is it properly woody?
1881 Black would be very close in style with YSL La Nuit, but much warmer and denser and marzipan note is well done in my opinion. I used to own it but gave it away, lately I tried it again and am considering to own it again.
Noble Cedar is a great scent, really! Unfortunately it'll be seldom if ever mentioned here except by me.

Pierre Cardin's apparently long forgotten Paradoxe, which would sell for around $200 per 50 ml today if a niche company marketed it, perhaps with a name like Welcome to Hades. It's got a bitter, dry, smoldering, leathery/peppery base.

    Ramon Monegal-Agar Musk +1

I'm still new to this, but have gotten my nose on quite a bit of the "well-mentions" and this was love at first sniff, seriously, plus it projects like a beast and lasts 15 hours. Very soft, leather, wodds, musk, and a bit of smooth oud.
    Current Top 5:
    1. DHI
    2. Byredo Bal d'Afrique
    3. Aventus
    4. Ambre Nuit

I bought NOBLE CEDAR and I love it. It is very well balanced and the cedar note is really beautiful. It lasts forever on your clothes. hednic also has it and mentions it sometimes. He likes it. It is a very good perfume and probably the best way to get a prominent cedar note. It is not expensive.

New Gorilla/Lush perfumes line like Voice of the Reason, The Bug, Devil's Nightcap.... are very original scents with great longevity/sillage and I think it deserves more attention.

Thanks for that. Now I'll have to buy it. I take it Noble Cedar is quite woody?

Yves Rocher Comme une Evidence Homme - great rose peppery scent , beats a lot of designer scents . What I like about it the most is that it has a light character but the longevity and sillage are above average . Pretty easy to wear also and can be found very cheap online .

Starts off sharp but turns out very warm and elegant, woody yes.
