Default Dior Homme to Dior Home ?

Ive got an 'Aroma Diffuser' bought from Muji.

    http://www.muji.eu/pages/online.asp?...ub=71&PID=4983

I use various fragrance oils in this, and get nice smelling results.

Ive looked at the fragrance notes of 'Dior Homme' and have found all the specified notes in fragrance oil form (Iris, Lavender,Leather,Cardomom and Vetiver)

Has anyone tried a similar experiment before to try to recreate a favourite Frag ?

Personally haven't. My guess is that you can come somewhat close to recreating the smell, but never like the actual scent.

Many years ago I tried to recreate Vetiver Tonka by using essential oils. I failed miserably, but had fun trying and learned a lot about vetiver in the process. I must have bought over a dozen different vetiver oils - each was unique.

More recently I wanted to use Black Afgano as a room scent. I found a generic oil that was better than anything I could hope of doing on my own, although it wasn't an exact dupe. Still, it makes for a great room scent when heated: http://www.universalperfumesandcosme...roduct_id=1177

By the way, there's an old thread here that may interest you:

Thanks for the advice, i may order the oils and have a go.

The Black Afgano oil looks interesting.

I may just order from ebay and probably save money trying to blend oils to get a certain fragrance.

    Thanks

I have an oil warmer and if I want to the room to smell like a fragrance, I spray the fragrance directly onto the oil warmer. The alcohol quickly burns off and the oil remains. You'll just have to experience concerning the number of sprays because different frags contain different percent strengths.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?
