Default It's time to buy again.....suggestions?

    Hello Everybody,

I am a pretty much ABC cologne guy and about to run out of my last stock(some of them were bought purely on reputation). It’s time to buy again so I thought to seek opinion of the experts on here (5-7 to buy). I usually buy 9-10 colognes and mix n match/rotate them. Not looking for anything specific just looking for wow factors which includes wow’ing me.

Just to add, I am 29 and smoke a lot. Also I sweat a fair bit. So I am looking for something accordingly.

What I had in the last round:
    Polo Black
    Cool water
    Hugo green
    Versace Man Eau Fraiche
    Armani Code
    Power fifty
    Benetton Sport

    I already bought:
    Cool Water
    Hugo Green

    What I am definitely buying:

    What I am considering atm:
    Burberry Brit
    Mont Blanc Legend
    Prada Intense

I will really appreciate any suggestions. Sorry for the long post and this forum is great. I got a lot of information from it. Keep up the good work guys

TDH and Prada Intense are good ones.

Ferre Bergamotto Marino - cheap, long lasting and great
Eau de Lalique - cheap, and great herbal fresh scent
    TdH - wonderful and versatile

Oh, and to up the ante a bit, try to sample Chanel Sycomore - a smokey vetiver fragrance.

You smoke what a lot? That could alter a suggestion or two. If you smoke cigarettes a lot, I think an incense fragrance would be a good call (2 Man maybe, plenty of niche out there, some designer). Pot on the other hand would lend itself to Coze or Black Afghano (both not cheap unfortunately).

Outside of that stuff, I'd suggest you check out Burberry London for sure (great, inexpensive fragrance...also inb4 hednic). Perhaps you'd also like HM (for the price you can't go wrong) or one of the A*Men bros.

Oh, and I definitely recommend TdH EDT. It gets surprisingly fresh in the hot weather, and very usable in the winter.

Considering any of the three below, you should be fine:

    Burberry Brit
    Mont Blanc Legend

Many suggestions already. Smoke and sweat make me think that you could also look around in older classics, which were in fact designed with smoking men in environment without air conditioning. Knize Ten has been already mentioned. Also Chanel Antaeus (big spicy), Azzaro pour homme (fresher fougere, quite cheap too), and Caron Yatagan (herbal).

My own sense is that if you smoke a lot stay away from sweet fragrances, as the combination is sickly. Admittedly, that puts a dent in your list. I'd go with a vetiver like Sycomore. Maybe TDH, although I can't stand it myself.

Most guys here on Basenotes would probably suggest TdH as a "must buy" fragrance, but I'm not a big fan of it. I think you are smart to have GIT on your "for sure" list even though you own Cool Water. You'll most likely find that you won't wear your CW much after buying GIT. You'll find yourself constantly noticing the synthetic feel that CW has compared to GIT and it will make you really start to dislike Cool Water.

I second Azzaro PH and would say that you can't go wrong with an old school bottle of Polo to cover up cigarette smell.

Thanks for the replies guys......keep them coming. Saturday is gonna be a busy day

Added a few more in the list.

Well GIT was kind of easy pick. Just blew away my mind. Even though a friend called it "rich mans CW"....I whole heartedly disagree. Even though there are some similarities but I found GIT a lot more pleasant, stronger and definitely longer lasting(at least on me) than CW.

Above are some great options and very promising ones. Added a few more to the list

On a side note, I may be mixing it up with something other bottle but a couple years I tested Sycomore and was not very impressed with the longevity. I may be wrong though.

Great stuff......going to have a busy Saturday and really looking forward to it.

In addition to the listings above I also did some more searching from above recommendations....I came up with the following(based on what I read none tested yet). I was wondering if any of the following fits the requirements:
-He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood- Dsquared
    -Prada Infusion

    HM = Hanae Mori??

    Sweaty smoker?

    Azzaro pour Homme
    Vetiver Extraordinaire
    Guerlain Vetiver
    Platinum Egoiste
    Eau de Rochas
    Declaration Cologne
    Eau Sauvage

Personally I'd stay away from TdH, that sweet mineral orange peel smell may turn even more disgusting than it already is in your situation.
