Question A Walking Fruit Bomb cologne?

    UPDATE 5/14/13:

Paco Rabanne Black XS has suited my needs!

I don't know what it is, but I really enjoy fruity fragrances.

Lately, I've been bravely rocking 'Villain' for Women, I love how creamy and fruity it smells, but I don't really like the creamy smell on me. I think the creamy vanilla smell gives it away as a female fragrance more than the over-the-top fruit notes. It definitely smells like a High School Sophomore girl's frag (my goodness, I can't believe I'm saying that and I am wearing it!).

Are there any frags made for men that are like "walking-fruit-bomb"?

    I've tried and retired:

Candies for Men (my 1st frag in high school)
Paris Hilton for Men (my 2nd frag right out of high school)
    DKNY Be Delicious
Sunset Heat (a very fruity, but flat cologne, it's basically a top note cologne that lasts for 10 minutes)

Ones that I've sampled and have no interest in:

    Joop Homme (Big Red gum)
    212
    1 Million (more cinnamon gum)
    Diesel Fuel for Life
    Bvlgari Aqua
I Am King (of the Night, of Miami)
    Unforgiveable
OP Juice (LMAO, this is just a citrus mint bomb!)

I'm thinking I need to try Happy by Clinique, but I like the "sweet" fruity smells and not so much the "citrus", I think that's why I like Villain so much. The watermelon note is what drives me nuts - I just love it.

You might have to check out some more womens frags to find what you are looking for. Have no shame in that though, plenty of guys around here on BN rock womens frags including myself. Hell, if it smells good to you then wear it, and screw whatever anyone else says about it.

This bourgeois friend of mine has it, and all I smelled was catpee (black currant).

I like the notes and the reviews... And it's missing the creamy/vanilla note. I'll have to track a sample or a 1.7oz down!

Doh! I just walked passed the Mont Blanc station at my dept store. I'll have to look for that one.

I've seen the Guess Seductive at TJ Maxx a few weeks ago. But they didn't have any open to smell, and the boxes are in plastic anti-theft devices.

Thanks for your advice. I really don't mind wearing it, and if I'm caught at the women's fragrance counter, I'll just make up a story about how I'm looking for a frag for my "girlfriend."

BTW, I swear I smelled Pure Malt before - is it a super strong cologne? I swear I kinda coughed when I sniffed it.

You'll have to forgive me, I'm still rehabbing from years of mass-market, celebrity endorsed colognes. All of them truly are non-offensive but lack charisma, imo. But there are some mass-market keepers out there!

The Miles looks good (from the notes).

I see the John Varvatos all the time at my dept store. I'll check it out next time.

I'm no expert but I've recently purchased a fabulous fruity fragrance called Frapin 1270. The top tones are unbelievably fruity, even for an inexperienced nose like mine, and then you get the rich, creamy cognac and brandy.
Hopefully some of the experts will confirm my choice.

I can't believe that Byredo Pulp hasn't been mentioned...it's always mentioned in the "fruity" frags threads. I own and love it...it's the most fruity frag I've ever smelled. It's super potent, so one spray is almost more than enough to last all day. It's a little pricey, but worth it. It might be what you're looking for.

Came to suggest Pulp as well.

I get a pronounced fruity impression especially from the following fragrances: Trussardi Jeans for Men, CK One Shock for Men, Royal Water by Creed and most of the Blu Medieterraneo fragrance line by ADP.

Same here. Pulp to me is the epitome of fruit. It also comes with unbelievable projection and longevity.

The fruitiest men's frag I've owned was probably Lacoste Style in Play. I don't think they make it anymore but it can be found on Amazon for under $50. It has a really nice green apple note.

Also, I get a sort of mentholated apple cobbler thing from Burberry for Men and Caron's L'Anarchiste. If you're into that...

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir is a red fruit bomb, and fairly unisex like all the JMs. Also projects and lasts longer than most of them. (Disclaimer: I hate it, but lots of people don't.)

And if you like melon, the only thing I got from Lush Breath of God (which I not only hated, but was wildly allergic to) was cantaloupe. Apparently if you can wear this one without ceasing to breathe, it can develop into something some people find amazing.

I've always found paco rabanne's ultraviolet man quite fruity.
Coincidentally I've just emptied a bottle of this myself, and am toying with replacing it.

Try the new from the Vagabond Prince (fragrantica) it's called Enchanted Forest. A wonderful cassis, very fruity and fine stuff. I think they can send you a sample for free.
