Exclamation Relax and calming scent for bed ?

Which is the most relax and calming scent for you?
I need to add one to help me get to sleep.
I mean it, I feel so tensed these days and I really need those sweet dreams.

I would recommend anything with a good dose of lavender, I use Caldey Island Lavender during the Summer as a aid to sleep.

There is actually one scent that I wear just for lounging and getting ready for bed, it is actually a very, very, comforting scent and it is cheap. It is Zirh by Zirh

Trust me, it is really soothing. Smells like sprite or 7 up.

When my kids were very young, we put them down for the night after applying baby lotion with lavender and chamomille. This was so very soothing that my wife and I began to use the same lotion ourselves as part of our bedtime sleep routine. I would recommend something like this and probably avoid applying a cologne. The Bath & Body Works stores thrive by providing this type of product.

Very much so, the black tea and cinnamon provide a relaxing effect. I think that this is what this fragrance is made for, I get very relaxed every time I wear it.

I find lavender is fresh and wakes me up. Despite what all the aromatherapy people say.

I like sweet mild scents for sleeping. I often reach for 1 spray of Bond No 9 I <3 NY for All.

I wore Reflection Man the other day, it was quite nice for bed. It reminds me of clean and fresh sheets, with a little bit of sweet creaminess, making it extremely mellow for before bed.

I honestly like wearing a spray or two of Black Afghano before bed, it really is nice.

aveda men pure-formance is what you are looking for...

it is a very "spa" relaxing fragrance and uses only natural oils. It's great, fantastic afterna bath / shower.

I looked it up and saw it does use natural oils, but I couldn't find any info on it made with all natural oils, can you elaborate on that or link me?

Even some of the most "natural" fragrances still use synthetic ingredients as well.

In the perfume guide of 2009 Luca Turin did a write up of it, and in the book, he cites a conversation with the perfumer, Koichi Shiozawa, who said that Aveda demanded he limit himself not only to all natural materials, but "organic"... i took this to mean non-synthetic... unless I am misunderstanding the definition of organic!

At any rate if you go onto amazon and find the 2009 turin / sanchez book, you should be able to do a search for "aveda" and read Turin's review.

Whatever the case may be, it is a very relaxing scent, almost like wearable aromatherapy... if you live near an aveda you should be able to go and test it before you buy it (would not recommend blind buy).

Any scent with an abundance of lavender or even vanilla. I enjoy Mouchoir de Monsieur or Jicky, and also Pour Un Homme.

That said, any fragrance you find comforting.

    Yes -

I like what Primrose says here...I adore Pour Un Homme by Caron (to the OP, karon), but also a nice splash of the beautiful, light Agua Lavanda by Puig. Layered is wonderful, but alone Agua Lavanda before bed is very nice (about 30 minutes - 1 hour of wear before it fades)...which is perfect, as it drifts off with you.

Another scent I like in the evenings and before bed is Monsieur Musk - I find it is very soothing. I have Original Houbigant, a bottle by Parquet and a very early Dana bottling that smells fantastic (not the latest formulation). Very nice scent that has nice warmth, rich aromatics but everything is 'dimmed', dark and rather calming.

A final suggestion - as you may not be going to bed alone...Vintage Kouros. It is olfactory foreplay and only gets better when released with body heat.

    Cheers,

    ericrico

    Safran Troublant !

Very comforting, and just the use for a frag that doesn't last very long to begin with. I've made sure to buy a back up bottle just for this purpose alone.

For some reason, my cat seems to really like it too.

I often use linen sprays on my sheets and pillows before bed, I make my own and currently have a rotation of:
    - lavender;
    - sweet orange, honeysuckle and vanilla;
    - rosemary and ylang ylang; and
    - rose.

I also have a bottle of Crabtree and Evelyn Lavender EDC that I bought for 10 dollars that also works well.
I rarely use frags before bed otherwise.

i have a small pillow with some dried lavender and some other stuff that im not sure what is that i keep in my bed. its one of those new age hippy things, it is meant to make my dreams clearer as well as encouraging restful slumber.

there might be something to it. it relaxes me, and whenever i sleep near it i remember my dreams far more vividly than i normally would.

I agree with Gucci pH II. I also recommend CK Be and both DKNY Be Delicious, and Red Delicious for men.

I only own Red Delicious out of those, and I either wear that one to sleep, or Varvatos Vintage, since longevity is so bad on this one, I wear it to sleep.
