Default Just lavender - Is there such a fragrance?

    Hey, guys!

I used the search engine but did not really find what I was looking for so here I go...

I would like to have a lavender soliflore. Actually, a lavender "solinote".

I went to my local essencial oil store but what they had did not smell like what I was looking for.

The kind of lavender I'm looking for is natural, herbal, the real thing, like the ones I found along my path in France.
I would love to have that at home to spray on my pillow or on myself whenever I wanted to feel like I'm crushing real lavender with my hands. If it lasts long it's a plus, but as long as it smells like the real thing, I'd be pleased for at least 10min or so.

Having that said, I'm not interested in great lavender-based fragrances such as the acclaimed Serge's, Caron's, Kilian's...

    Thanks!

Why don't you give Lorenzo Villoresi Wild Lavender a try, it's a very herbal lavender fragrance, in fact it really smells like real lavenders for the first hour or so.
    Current top 5:
    1. Puredistance M
    2. Yosh Sombre Negra
    3. Amouage Fate Man
    4. Parfums de Marly Galloway
    5. Naomi Goodsir Bois d'Ascese

I like Lorenzo Villoresi's lavender scent...it used to be called Inglese, can't remember what they changed it to. Have you tried l'Occitane? They do a lot of lavender soliflore products.

That is a very easy question. Please buy the HUGE bottle of:

    AGUA LAVANDA de Puig

    at www.fragrancenet.com

It is the best "isolated" lavender money can buy. And it is very cheap.

Can you find lavender essential oil? I have this one and find it very true: http://www.oshadhiusa.com/item.php?item=430958
    Highland Lavender (Lavandula vera)

I see this comes in different sizes and forms including hydrosols:
    http://www.oshadhiusa.com/search.php...it=yes&x=0&y=0

I mixed this with a carrier oil and apply it as a roll-on but you could add grain alcohol to it and spray it. (It is not long-lasting however.)

I urge you to read the reviews of Agua Lavanda before making a decision. Look at the prices too.

    HackerX: I'll try it. Thanks!

Cazaubon: I have the L'Occitane's lavender. It is indeed good but a bit too ozonic, in my opinion. I wish it were more wild.
I have a "body and massage gel" from L'occitane that smells pretty much like what I'm looking for but wouldn't like it to be a massage gel!

Hednic: Will look for that one, too. Thanks!

DanielPlainView: Oh, that looks like it is the one (based on your excitement)! I'll definitely have to smell that one ASAP

30 Roses: Yes, at my local store, they had about 4 types of lavender oils but they smelled weird and even perfumey - very natural.

Nersh: I've read about this one. I just fell it's not easy to get. It's on my radar, anyway.

    Thank you all!

Another good one: Molinard Lavande Cologne

Both cheap and come in huge bottles.

Yardley English Lavender and Atkinsons Lavander are also good but a tad more expensive.

Uhm... that's really exciting! (25 positive reviews on BN. No neutrals or negatives).
Fragrancenet sells a 25.5oz bottle (!) for $ 15.19. Oh l l! (What one doesn't pay for the fragrance he/she will pay in customs duties for a bottle that big)

I think it's not listed on BN. On Fragrantica there are two. Which one is the one?

Sorry... are you talking about the double post? My browser crashed and ended up posting twice. I edited the post and erased the echo

They have a shower gel and soaps too. Have you tried those? I'm looking forward to that lavender overdose!

I am always right. And I am extremely humble too.

I have never tried the gel and the soap. I don't know if they are as good as the perfume.

    Lavender from Caldey Island monks.

    Lavanda from L'Occitane

If you can find the Primavera essential oils online, that's the way to go.

The best 'simple' lavender I have is the Caldey Island one. They don't ship outside the UK any more though. Norfolk Lavender Cologne is pretty good too; no idea of availability worldwide.

Yardley English Lavender might also be a suitable suggestion, apart from the many great recommendations so far.

I wish Art of Shaving would come out with a Lavender EDT, to go alongside their excellent Lemon and Sandalwood EDT's. If that happened, and if it smelled just like their lavender shaving cream, that would be exactly what you are looking for!

My choice would also be Agua Lavanda in the large glass green bottle only.

    Some deep background from Lucasai:

When you step back from stressing the parts,
when the mind becomes still, the rose comes to you,
unfolds in you in all her glory.
    The perfume invades you completely.
The rose is you. You are one.

It's difficult, because all of us have our own interpretation on what 'the real thing' smells like. All of our noses/perception/skin chemistry/experience is so different.

From the lavenders that I have smelled (and I've smelled MANY of them) I would say the one that smells the most like 'the real thing' is Lavender Toilet Water by Crabtree & Evelyn, but I am talking about the vintage juice, not the juice on sale now. I have about 1/5 of my bottle left and I am using it sparingly. My bottle looks like this:

"One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple"

    Absolutely.

It's taken me some time to appreciate this stuff, particularly as I'm not a huge fan of lavender fragrances, but it is an excellent, true lavender smell. This smells like lavender more than any other fragrance I've tried.

While its not completely linear lavender, Serge Lutens Clair Gris is very lavender forward, very clean and natural, and has really good longevity and spillage. I get lots of compliments. And it smells just like the lavender I grow in my garden!

But that one is way too complicated for a lavender only as I'm looking for. I tried in in Paris and it's way too sweet!
