Mona di Orio Eau Absolue is a memoir steeped in Mona di Orio’s love for the Mediterranean. Composed in her signature olfactory chiaroscuro construction, the scent envelopes in joyous warmth. Eau Absolue effervesces like a summer breeze carrying a zestful bouquet of bergamot, mandarin, clementine and Petitgrain. These bright, convivial citruses splash against the epicurean spice of pink peppercorn. The scent becomes earthy and softly floral, with whispers of geranium, dry vetiver and balsamic St Thomas Bay Leaf. The nocturnal shade intensifies, arching ever deeper, until plunging directly into a caress of cistus labdanum, the ambry smell of the Mediterranean, and sensual musk, an elegant and intoxicating denouement.

    Eau Absolue Notes:
Sicilian bergamot, clementine and Petitgrain Citronnier, Litsea Cubeba from China, Egyptian geranium, vetiver from Java & Haiti,
Jamaican St. Thomas Bay Leaf, pink peppercorn from Peru, cedar wood from Virginia, musk, cistus labdanum.

First I've heard of this, thanks for the info! Looks like it could be a nice summer scent!! I'm a big fan of the Les Nombres D'or line. I wonder if Mona composed, or at least worked on this scent?

My bottle arrived just before I went to work this morning, so made it my SOTD. This is unmistakably Mona Di Orio. Yes, it is a lighter, brighter fragrance than we are perhaps accustomed to from this house but there is the Di Orio slightly musky, amber base that seems to appear in all of her compositions. There is an accord throughout that smells like orange-blossom and the bergamot opening provides some sparkle and justifies the champagne style stopper. The peppercorn and cedar add some welcome depth and warmth to the fragrance. Longevity is good, still going strong after 8 hours, though projection is less impressive with a nice cloud for the first hour or two but wearing closer to the skin after that point. I keep getting a strong APOM association with this. Though the MFK is thicker, this is more complex and quite possibly more wearable. A solid offering from the house that I would urge you to try.

Received this as a rather large unsolicited sample with a purchase made at First in Fragrance. Very nice and refreshing.
