Default Need some suggestions, "new" to the little world of fragrances.

I've always been interested in colognes.the Calvin kleins in high school and so forth.i just have never been able to afford much until now I'm out of college and have a decent income. I just need some suggestions. I like powdery/vanilla type smells. Some examples of my favorites are le male, Armani code, Burberry touch. anything similar to these would be great, thanks!also I've even buying testers from eBay as I've heard if their going to make fake bottles they won't put the in tester boxes to make 60% of the value. An input? The ones I revived I'm 95% sure are authentic.

    Welcome!

For a smooth, clean vanilla, I'd recommend Caron pour un homme: lavender and vanilla, as classic as it gets.

    +1 Dior Homme

Burberry Brit - a light powdery scent, mixed with some hints of rose to give it a classy feel to it. People often compare this to Armani Code.

Givenchy Pi - vanilla mixed with some nuts / woods to give it a more masculine vibe to it.

Since you're new to fragrances, I highly recommend the beginner's forum.

You might want to check out some of the fragrances from La Maison de La Vanille

    +1 Guerlain Habit Rouge

Guerlain has a long history of using vanilla in their fragrances...try Spiritueuse Double Vanille

And now that you've found BN, I think you'll soon realize the world of fragrances is anything but little. Welcome, and enjoy!

Pi is nice for the price, but Jaipur Homme EDP is a much nicer fragrance - spicy, sweet, powdery, and very sexy.

Ja´pur Homme de Boucheron, EdP, is, to me, the best vanilla scent on the market.
And it'll give you well above average sillage and longevity. What's not to love?

PI de Givenchy. Legendary vanilla frag. Very synthetic, though ... yet quite good.

Dior Homme & Dior Homme Intense ... powdery vanilla galore!

Good suggestions I think so far (apart from the Tom Ford and Killian ones, there is no need for any expensive niche frags when you have the Dior Hommes and the classic Chanels and Guerlains to choose from.)
    Enjoy!

I would actually try Habanita. This is sold as a women's scent, but it has vanilla, vetiver, leather, tobacco and patchouli. Very powdery.

For the EDP: Top: Lentisk, Geranium, Petitgrain and Ylang-Ylang
Heart: Vetiver, Jasmine, Nutmeg, Heliotrope, Mimosa, Rose and Cedar
Base: Vanilla, Tonkin Musk, Patchouli, Amber, Moss and Sandalwood

    The EDT is also wonderful.

1 Million by Paco Rabanne turns extremely vanilla on my skin after drying down. I love it!

Habit rouge has a nice vanila in the base but depending on your taste you might not like the leather combo that comes with it. Not really for summer in my opinion since I almost gaged once, but I guess its just me. The smell of leather tends to upset my stomach during hot day. But its still worth a sample.
Any opinions I post here about frags only reflect MY PERSONAL TASTE and only my personal preference which could change at any moment.

20 bucks or less would be michael jordan legend, body shop'swhite musk and perry ellis 360 white. Up to 50 bucks would be lolita lempicka, hanae mori, roma and burberry brit.50 and over would be dior homme and minotaure. Oh yeah i forgot ignition by lomani and also cadillac, both under 20. I would blid buy both of those first and get samples of the higher end frag's..

Give Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche a try... its a nice clean spring and summer scent with good projection and longevity. It has a creamy lemon smell to it.

New to the "little" world of fragrances? It's not a little world by any means. In addition, tap a vein, because it's an addiction. We're all just fragrance junkies waiting for our next fix.

If you like powdery scents, definitely test Armani Code.
