    Default Longevity and projection issues

I just had a question. I've recently noticed within the past year or so that I'm getting horrible projection and longevity with most (all) of my new fragrances. I'm just wondering if anyone has the same issues. I've only recently noticed this problem, and I can't tell if it's because I'm only now paying attention or if perhaps it is my body chemistry changing as I get older (I'm in my mid 30s). Perhaps it's olfactory fatigue...

Here are the specific scents I'm wondering about....

D&G The One: I've been reading that this is a well-documented complaint about this fragrance, so I'm not too worried about this one. It's a shame because I REALLY like this scent!

Bleu de Chanel: This one seems to work the best for me. I've been getting about 3 hours tops before it completely disappears. This is not always a bad thing because I enjoy the scent and wear it to work, so I don't want it to be too overpowering.

Creed Aventus: After about an hour, it seems to disappear, but I still get faint wisps if I spray it on my shirt or clothes. In fact, I can still smell it the next day on my clothes, but on my skin it disappears.

Terre d'Hermes: This one literally last 30 minutes before I can no longer smell it.

Cool Water: I can barely smell it when I spray it, and then it is almost immediately gone.

I still get good results from AdGio, D&G Pour Homme and SpiceBomb.

The only one of those that you mentioned that I have projection and longevity issues with is D&G The One. The rest are good to go.

Of the five you inquire about, I have zero longevity problems with the last four. As I disliked the D&G in its entirety when I tried it, never bothered to keep it on my skin long enough to find out.

Cool Water is a bomb on me. Right up there at the top of what I have (which includes A*Men, Kouros, Yatagan, Le Male, 1 Million and other beasts as well). I wear Cool Water to work lots and I need to be very careful on the trigger with that one.

Same here. I'll revisit The One in the summer to see if it performs better in warmer season.

I have the problems you mentioned only with D&G The One and to some extent with Aventus (sadly, as I LOVE the smell of this one sooooooo).
My current top 10 (with no particular order):
    Givenchy Xeryus Rouge
    Dior Homme Intense
    Dior Fahrenheit
    Costume National Scent Intense
    Terre d'Hermes EDT
    CK Eternity for Men
    Creed Aventus
YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme (Old Tin Can)
    Thierry Mugler Pure Malt
    Costume National Homme

If you really love the scents with weak projection & longevity then by the respective bodywash & deodarant it works for me but its an expensive solution

The best would be to apply an unscented body lotion and then spray on it.
This gives it a nice base to sit on hence extending its life.

I got a bottle of Cool Water earlier this week, it's very potent 2hrs in but sticks really close to the skin afterwards. I could easily smell it 8 hours in though on my arm though.

D&G The One actually last quite a while on my skin. I wore it the other day and was smelling it strong 8 hours later. I was actually ready to wash it off, it becomes very synthetic in the drydown, that top is amazing though.

Let's face it, 95% of fragrances simply don't last beyond an hour or so.
