I personally have never noticed any difference coming from the sprays of a new bottle.

This is an interesting observation. I have a bottle of Aventus that seems to have become much more powerful after I used it a few times and some air got in the bottle, but maybe its only my imagination.

I have that too, if I haven't smelled a fragrance for long, my nose takes some time getting used to the notes.

Depending on the fragrance, the difference can be dramatic.

As an example, Dior Homme Intense. When I got a bottle and first sprayed it, the iris was incredibly overpowering. Over time, and after quite a few uses, the iris became much more tolerable and faded away to the background faster, allowing the powdery vanilla to come through sooner.

This has happened to me with grey market bottles. I think the juice in the plastic tube degrades over time.

Yeah, you're fine. This sometimes happens to me as well. The first spray or two smells like alcohol, but then after that, smells fine.

I notice this to happen more with the aquatic and citrus scents.

I've noticed this phenomenon particularly with the Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier frags. I got either very weak sillage or overly sharp alcohol the very first times I pumped the sprayer. After 10 or so pumps, everything balanced out and was fine.
