Default Narciso Rodriguez for Him - thoughts on a blind buy?

I don't mind taking chances on blind buys. Especially ones a little out there. What do you think of this one? It's either this or Fahrenheit Absolute this blind buy binge, for a darker, somewhat unique scent.

Mont Blanc Legend has been the least inspiring, most disappointing of all my blind buys. I am not looking for safe.

    Thanks.

I wouldn't blind buy this. Its a very harsh drydown to most. Me personally have received comments like this "smells like a moldy towel" " you smell like wet dog" etc People pick up a moldy vibe to it for some reason. Im not trying to be negative but this is what people I know have said on me.

    LOL. Thanks.

Yeah. I have read a lot about it evoking memories of standing in a cement (not pavement) parking lot while it is raining. Do you get a "wet cement" vibe from it?

Needless to say, I would see this as something I would not be wearing around any women I wanted to impress, unless they were over the top goth. I viewed it as being more of a rainy day stay at home frag.

It's inexpensive, and it sounds interesting to me.

Do you have any thoughts on Fahrenheit Absolute?

I am looking for something on the dark side. Something intersting. Something at the exact opposite end of the spectrum from Legend.

Yeah I can agree to the wet cement vibe. I was thinking a wet basement lol.

It's a unique fragrance, which makes it a very risky blind buy.

You should be able to find/get a sample at Sephora.

I say go for it if you are daring- a nice scent IMO.

I would never blind buy any fragrance.
    Interesting post i had read:

Let the cost of your bottle be x
Let the cost of its resale value be y
Let the cost of a sample purchased be z.

Now if the difference between x and y is less than z, then go ahead
    and blind buy it.

    I don't think it's a safe blind buy.

I have owned both this and Farenheit Absolute in the past.

I used up my bottle of NR, and will buy another one in the fullness of time.

I have just sold my FA because, although I liked it at first, it seemed to me the overall smell was a little 'muddled'.

Sample both before spending on a bottle of either.

I absolutely love it and think it was one of very few quality designer scents of the recent years.

However, in another similar thread, we discussed this with a member at length; he bought it and immediately put it up for sale. It's still available on the sales thread. In fact there are more than one there.

    Not blind buy safe IMO.

I sampled, kind of liked but couldn't get on with one of the notes...
Well, it's cheaper than therapy... edit: No it's not...

    Buy the musc edition.

NRFH is also very nice and unique but I like the musc edition.

Not sure why I couldn't find it. Well, I'm blind buying either the original or Musc. Too interesting not to.

You're welcome! I just happened to remember who it was and went around finding it from the sales thread LOL.
The search function is very temperamental and hard to use for me too.

I wouldn't recommend blind buy. Narciso has a voilet note and it is not too common. It is still nice. Fahrenheit Absolute has a dark note that is blends with voilet. Not sure if it is as safe as the before.
