Thread: Girlfriend's Favorite |
Guys, what are your girlfriends' favorite scents on you? I'm not talking about the fabled "panty-dropper," Just what the lady in your life likes you to smell like?
My wife's favorites on me:
1) Aventus
2) Bleecker Street
3) Straight to Heaven
4) Turtle Vetiver Back
5) New Haarlem
My wife's favorite on me is Balafre by Lancome
Original Vetiver
Floris Santal
Habit Rouge
Eau des Baux
Roberto Cavalli Man
Opium Pour Homme
Pour Un Homme
"The sunset is deeper and longer. The scent of the jasmine is stronger." Miracles. Pet Shop Boys
"Thick dome of jasmine
(Under the dense canopy where the white jasmine),
Blends with the rose,
(That blends with the rose),"
"The Flower Duet," Lakme by Leo Delibes, 1881
Bulgari green tea
I gotta second Straight to Heaven. I refrained from giving my gf's since I wasn't quite sure but you reminded me of one of her (and my) favorites. Her top five would have to be:
1. Straight to Heaven
2. Armani Black Code
3. A&F Fierce (which I flatly refuse to wear)
4. Creed GIT
5. La Nuit Del'Homme
Luckily she hasn't had as much experience with GIT and La Nuit, so hopefully I can sway her opinion and knock the Abercrombie out of the list hahaha
Dior Homme Sport, Chanel Edition Blanche, Aventus.
Bvlgari pour homme Extreme
TF Grey Vetiver
Acqua di Gio
Bleu de Chanel
Musc ravageur (special occasions)
Gucci Pour Homme: loved by an ex who likes strong, manly men.
Gucci Pour Homme II: loved by an ex who is the quiet sexy librarian type.
Hanae Mori HM: loved by an ex who is fun and happy. HM is becoming my pick to wear on dates.
Overall though, the biggest compliment getters among women I've dated have been:
Curve: I suspect it's due to the musky base.
Lucky No. 6: Such an underrated scent. It's hard to not like this one.
L'Air du Desert Marocain: Specifically, I'm talking about the base it evolves into once you've been wearing it for 6+ hours. I easily get 18 hours of longevity from LDDM. I love the top, but it's the final stage that really gets me compliments.
I should also note that I've never gotten any positive unsolicited feedback from Aventus. When I asked for opinions, I was told "It's nice." I enjoy the stuff, but it's not something I wear on dates anymore.

lets just say that the one she tolerates is Creed's Green Irish Tweed.
Form is emptiness, emptiness is form.
Sycomore, Endymion and of course LIDGE.
I think the latter two appeal to many women as they have sweetness to them, but not tooth-achingly so, and still smell mature.
Leather Oud is her favorite. Others include Pure Malt, Aventus, Dior Homme Intense and Rive Gauche.
Wife seems to like the clean stuff - Mugler Cologne and Erolfa were recent compliment-getters, as was Aventus (which is a funny paradox of fruity/clean + smoky to my nose).
Sadly, she's on the fence when it comes to one of my favorite notes - vetiver. She can pick it out pretty well, though it catches her as rather grapefruit-like (which I get and smell as well, but I also catch more of the earth/rootiness of it). I'm trying to ease her into it with some nice, airy ones like, as the name implies, KenzoAir![]()
My finances favorites on me are:
1) Dreamer
2) MFK Oud
3) Aventus
4) Musc Ravageur
5) Silver Mountain Water
And then there's my all time favorite signature scent that I had to retire, Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme.
I could barely stomach the first reformulation. But the 2nd reform really put the nail in its coffin for me.
I have 2 almost full vintage bottles.
Every time I wear it nowadays, my fiancé says, "wow this brings me back to our youth".
I hope that when we're old and grey, and I spray a little on, she has the same feeling![]()

Creed Original Vetiver
Gucci Pour Homme II
Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme
Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
Creed Aventus
The dry-down's of LIDGE & Rochas Man
The wife prefers me scent free. She did say that Issey Miyake is kind of OK, but she'd still prefer me to wear nothing.
Not even a speedo?
keepin' it musky
My last boyfriend really learned how to love:
Hammam Bouquet
Habit Rouge
But for some inexplainable reason, he kept asking me to wear Azzaro, even though I told him it had been destroyed by reformulation.

Gucci Pour II
Tobacco Vanille
Italian Cypress(2hr after applying)
Speakeasy(need to get a bottle)
Les Zazous
Only two wifely comments ever -- once for Rive Gauche Pour Homme, and once for Sel de Vetiver. Two veeeery different frags. Both comments came at the end of the day, and clearly tied into her feelings that it had been a good day all around. I think the actual scent probably didn't matter.
Darjeeling's from Oz, so I believe the appropriate term is "banana hammock".![]()
Green Irish Tweed
Aventus
Rose 31
Memoir Man
Oud Wood
Tom Ford for Men
Windsor
She hates Tuscan Leather
Tobacco Vanille is her favourite so far I think. Green Irish Tweed is a close second.
