    Default Girlfriend's Favorite

Guys, what are your girlfriends' favorite scents on you? I'm not talking about the fabled "panty-dropper," Just what the lady in your life likes you to smell like?

I gotta second Straight to Heaven. I refrained from giving my gf's since I wasn't quite sure but you reminded me of one of her (and my) favorites. Her top five would have to be:

    1. Straight to Heaven
    2. Armani Black Code
    3. A&F Fierce (which I flatly refuse to wear)
    4. Creed GIT
    5. La Nuit Del'Homme

Luckily she hasn't had as much experience with GIT and La Nuit, so hopefully I can sway her opinion and knock the Abercrombie out of the list hahaha

Gucci Pour Homme: loved by an ex who likes strong, manly men.
Gucci Pour Homme II: loved by an ex who is the quiet sexy librarian type.
Hanae Mori HM: loved by an ex who is fun and happy. HM is becoming my pick to wear on dates.

Overall though, the biggest compliment getters among women I've dated have been:
Curve: I suspect it's due to the musky base.
Lucky No. 6: Such an underrated scent. It's hard to not like this one.
L'Air du Desert Marocain: Specifically, I'm talking about the base it evolves into once you've been wearing it for 6+ hours. I easily get 18 hours of longevity from LDDM. I love the top, but it's the final stage that really gets me compliments.

I should also note that I've never gotten any positive unsolicited feedback from Aventus. When I asked for opinions, I was told "It's nice." I enjoy the stuff, but it's not something I wear on dates anymore.

Sycomore, Endymion and of course LIDGE.

I think the latter two appeal to many women as they have sweetness to them, but not tooth-achingly so, and still smell mature.

Wife seems to like the clean stuff - Mugler Cologne and Erolfa were recent compliment-getters, as was Aventus (which is a funny paradox of fruity/clean + smoky to my nose).

Sadly, she's on the fence when it comes to one of my favorite notes - vetiver. She can pick it out pretty well, though it catches her as rather grapefruit-like (which I get and smell as well, but I also catch more of the earth/rootiness of it). I'm trying to ease her into it with some nice, airy ones like, as the name implies, KenzoAir

My finances favorites on me are:

    1) Dreamer

    2) MFK Oud

    3) Aventus

    4) Musc Ravageur

    5) Silver Mountain Water

And then there's my all time favorite signature scent that I had to retire, Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme.
I could barely stomach the first reformulation. But the 2nd reform really put the nail in its coffin for me.

I have 2 almost full vintage bottles.

Every time I wear it nowadays, my fiancť says, "wow this brings me back to our youth".

I hope that when we're old and grey, and I spray a little on, she has the same feeling

Only two wifely comments ever -- once for Rive Gauche Pour Homme, and once for Sel de Vetiver. Two veeeery different frags. Both comments came at the end of the day, and clearly tied into her feelings that it had been a good day all around. I think the actual scent probably didn't matter.

People in the real world don't care about reformulation - especially if someone else is wearing the scent they're smelling. Why on earth would they?

While I can't say I'm on the Aventus bandwagon (yet, may have to buy a full 1 oz....) I can see why a woman wouldn't like Tuscan Leather. It just doesn't strike me as sensual, or even all that inviting. It's masculine to the core but to me it feels like a man's man scent. Men love it, and women love men who love it, but I'd imagine most women don't love it themselves. Just my two cents

YES. You are doing it right sir. I spray 5-6 sprays of LDDM early in the night when I'm not around other people. That way, in about 4-6 hours time when (if) things are going swimmingly and the gap between myself and another female human is beginning to shrink, it has lost its 'spice market' feel and has, as you said, evolved into something else that is just magical and fucking sexy. I feel like I sing it's praises far too much, but I can honestly say it has never, ever failed me.

Oh... and the longevity you mentioned. It is herculean. Doesn't matter what you get up to, the next morning you STILL get compliments which is a real godsend. You know what I'm talkin bout.

Wow. Lalique Equus is 100% pure wood. She must love wood.

My date last night told me she could still smell me after getting home and taking off her clothes.

    Was it my cologne or....me?

    1) AdG Essenza , hands down
    2)Aventus
3)Bleecker Street (surprised by this one)
    4) DHI "vintage" (this is really number one, but the other she verbally comments about, while this one, no words need to be exchanged to see the reaction)

I'm still surprised too! But I think that she is more sensitive to the sweet ambery vibe that unfolds on me (a matter of body chemistry maybe). I have to mention that her nose is way better than mine.
I'm sure she likes woody/ambery frags though.

Been single for a good while, but back when I was dating this girl between 2006-2007, she LOVED Polo Double Black.

Loves Aventus, VIW. She keeps asking me to refill her decant of VIW.
