Thread: Creed GIT

    Default Creed GIT

Just bought a new bottle of GIT and the smell is way different than my old bottle. The open isnt as pleasant and I cant seem to figure out why.

Will it age as I get further into the bottle?

    Thanks.

There's always a chance you could have a fake. Where did you purchase it from? Also how old was your original bottle?

I have a old tester bottle of GIT from 2008 where the opening smells off like mouldy cardboard due I think to the lemon verbena note having gone off. But this should not happen to a brand new bottle and if it's unpleasant I would try to get a refund or a exchange.

It has occurred to me that some proportion of these seemingly endless, and endlessly weird, posts about batch variations are simply motivated by buyer's remorse.

In the first step make sure that it's not fake, then you'll decide what to do with.

either it's a different batch, a fake, or just cool water in a GIT bottle

Well, since the original poster provided no information on who it was bought from, batch numbers, or anything other than "it smells off," there is no reason to even guess here.

    Could be anything or nothing.

Some of the newer batches have a very aggressive violet blast in the top, it could be that, since a heavy dose of it can seem a bit harsh.

To be honest I have experienced something similar, at first I bought a 30 ml GIT, was amazing, then I bought a 120 ml one and the top notes were a little bit different, not bad, but different but they became similar after 10-15 minutes. Weird but I believe it might have something to do with the batch and age of the bottle.
