    Good afternoon!

After a few days of mere weather with clouds and rain the sky is finally clear blue and it's warm outside.

I decided to wear Noontide Petals by Andy Tauer today. Later will be time for some cycling.

Hello everyone, Coty L'Origan vintage eau de toilette for me. There's no doubt that Jacques Guerlain brought it to another realm with L'Heure Bleue, but François Coty got there first with this beautiful gem.

Was difficult choosing today, but finally went for Idylle by Guerlain for this rainy and chilly day.

Well, my senses are back -- just like so: woke up smelling coffee that Mr.T started. 5 days of sterile vacuum with a few glimpses of unfoggy head was more than enough. Drizzling here and grey.

Terry, I think you are absolutely spot on about the two! (You also remember what E. says about her favorite version of Shalimar? In case you do not -- it is vintage Emeraude! Now we need to speculate about the trend with L'Aimant, me thinks.)

    Hugs to 30R and mama.

So happy to hear you are recovering, T-Wolf!

I bet you could smell me, maybe from here actually. Smell Bent Prairie Nymph. I was very delicate with it but it's powerful stuff.

Also note today is Free Comic Book Day in the US, for those so inclined. We love these in my house. Mouse Guard and Atomic Robo in particular.

It's a spectacular day here, just what was needed after the last few days of rain, but the sun is bright and spirits are high for more jazz at the fest. I'm in vintage Chamade, 70s parfum and edc.

    Y'all have a wonderful day!

This morning's conversation with my daughter:
    "Happy second anniversary, honey."
    "Third."

What kind of mom am I?

That said, I'll wear Cartier Panthère today, since she bought it for me back when she was about 16, trying to duplicate a scent memory from her childhood (forgive me, basenotes friends who have read this so many times before), what she called "cold perfume"; it was the smell of me coming home from orchestra around 11 pm and tiptoeing into her room to give her a kiss.

She's wearing Liz Taylor's springy Violet Eyes, a drugstore buy that deserves some love.

It's Kentucky Derby day and DH is having his annual party. He loves horse racing; me? I love the horses, the racing not so much. Anyway, corny nerd that I am (and I think MikePerez will understand this!) I'm wearing Whips and Roses for the occasion. Hopefully there will not be too many whips involved.

    Happy Saturday to everyone!

Yay for Kentucky Derby day! Maybe I can watch it on TV if we don't have to get out of the house so people can see it. I would go to a bar and have a mint julep to watch, but I have to take the dog with me when we vacate and I don't want to leave her in the car. Wearing Jeanne Lanvin Couture from a decant sent by a BN pal. It's youthful and pretty: raspberry, violet, peony on a musky/cedar base. Fruity but not too syrupy sweet. Must run. Love to everybody.

    Hello all,

After around eleven hours sleep & a nice rest this afternoon (& managing to clean the bathroom - it needed doing!) l'm feeling a little bit better. So we're off out for a couple of beers this evening, although it probably won't be a late night. And although the sun is out now, it was cloudy here for most of the day, so it was a good day for resting. SOTE will be Organza.

Glad Twolf is feeling better too. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

I wore this first thing in the morning (it's sunny & hot) and now I've reapplied it this afternoon (I'm painting my kitchen and sweating up a storm). My decant is almost all gone. One of my best citrus favorites. Very natural smelling.

I've been wearing YSL In Love Again today. It's so nice to have warmer weather again.

My mother has had a lot of trouble with edema in her legs this week. I've spent a great deal of time dealing with the problem, bought (and returned) a number of compression stockings and am now having to go to her place 2-3 times per day to don and doff the stockings and check up on her.

After a bad evening last night I was sure I'd be spending today in the ER with her, but overnight the swelling went down and the signs of incipient cellulitis went away. The knee high stockings she is now wearing cost $47.95 per pair, but they seem to be doing the job. I hope the crisis has passed, but going forward I will probably have to go to her apartment early each morning and late each evening, indefinitely, to apply and remove the socks for her (or pay Assisted Living services a steep fee to do so) as they are too hard for her to don and doff alone-- and the aids for donning and doffing are hard for someone with dementia to figure out how to use. Not that I won't try to teach her. I really, really do not want every morning and evening tied up that way. We shall see.

I'm going to buy one of these devices on Monday. It will help me to get the socks on her with less difficulty, and if she can learn how to use it, I'll buy 2 and preload the socks for her daily. If you or a loved one has trouble with putting on compression stockings, look at these videos:

Sounds like a good plan 30Roses I wish there were similar things for torso garments! I struggle into and out of them on a daily basis, with one arm that's not much good for helping with anything.
