Someone help me find the closest stuff for replacement??
I ran it out few years ago.
It's the gentlest scent I ever had.

Big fan of Dunhill Edition here. Never found another scent quite like it to be honest. Other fragrances that bear some resemblence in my opinion would be Loewe para Hombre, Cacharel pour L´Homme and L'Occitane Eau de 4 Voleurs, though this one is hard to find these days.

Just make sure it's the original/vintage though as the reformulation is not very good...

I love this. It was one of my first fragrances back in the 80s. You can still buy the reformulated version from Dunhill at Selfridges, London.

Dunhill Edition was the first fragrance I purchased when I was Seventeen back in the Eighties and it was really good. A few years ago I picked up a new bottle and was very disappointed that it had been reformulated and was not as good as it once was. The current bottle smells watered down compared to the vintage. Best to look out on ebay for the original.

There are quite a few miniatures of the original floating about too.
It is a truly brilliant frag. One I could easily live with every day for life...

You MUST buy Cacharel Pour Homme. It is the closest you will ever get to it. Fortunately, I have 8 1oz bottles of Dunhill Edition, which I bought for nothing at 1stperfume.com .

somehow DE smells like a very soft cream soda with a bit of spice. Very comforting yet fresh.

Should I follow the nose Alain Astori to Jil Sander or Paul Smith?
Do you guys have this nose-creator issue?

That's what I did after finishing my previous bottle- I bought a few minis of the original from ebay and poured them into one large atomizer.

I'm a big fan too of DE, by far Dunhill's best. I think Zirh Ikon is similar, particularly on the drydown.
"I exist for myself, and for those to whom my unquenchable thirst for freedom gives everything, but also for everyone, since insofar as I am able to love - I love everyone. Of noble hearts, I am the noblest - and the most generous of those that yearn to give love in return. - I am a human being, I love death and I love life."

My classics: Dior Homme EdT, YSL Rive Gauche PH, Helmut Lang Cuiron, L'Occitane Neroli (vintage), Davidoff Zino, L'Occitane Eau des Baux

I tried the reformulation at the Dunhill stand at Selfridges. It's not a patch on the original. Can't find any vintage bottles on Ebay these days.

It was a bit too spicy for me. Try their original Dunhill for men 1934 in the same bottle, but clear.

I used to love this one back in the nineties! I would occasionally use my father's bottle, was still in high school then. If I get this now it'll sure bring out some good memories. But Is the reformulation really a mere shadow of its former self? I see it is being sold on fragrancenet, but I am also hearing it has been discontinued, so... a little clarification would be helpful here..

    Yeah.. Lmao.

Anyways, fragrancenet has it for way cheaper than that.. However, some of the questions I raised in my last post still remain open. Think I migh as well just start a new Dunhill thread cause bringing up old threads doesnt bring out as many responses...
