Thread: Best of the Best of the '90s
Since there is an '80s thread - what where the best fragrances introduced in the '90s?
Seems like a contest between:
- Chanel Egoiste
- Guerlain Heritage
- Boucheron Jaipur
(yes I like orientals)
For me it's Balenciaga Pour Homme which came out in 1990 but was discontinued in the late nineties. It is a incredible fragrance that last sixteen hours on my skin. It is one of only four fragrances out of hundreds I would give a score of a perfect ten out ten. Masterpiece status in my book.
It's probably not my favorite decade for fragrances, but I would +1 Egoiste and Heritage. I'd also begrudgingly second everything on Tony T's list too: stuff like ADG and Curve are still easy for me to like no matter how strange my tastes tend to get.

These threads are quite subjective. There's what was the biggest in the 90's, or what was the best for you. The best of the 90's for me were:
Acqua di Gio
Too many more to name.
My 3 Signature Scents:
Rive Gauche Light (2004)
Paul Smith Man (2009)
For me, there is no doubt.. Chanel Egoiste
Agree with Egoiste. Another great one with no modern equal is Basara/Basala by Shiseido. I'm using my 50ml parsimoniously.
+1 Issey Miyake
+1 Basala ( I got a decant not long ago and totally dig it)
Another one for me is Eau de Rochas pour Homme.
A few of them:
Balenciaga pour Homme
Patou pour Homme Prive
Eau de Rochas pour Homme (vintage)
Yohji Homme (vintage)
Time for Peace pour Lui
Muscs Koublai Khan

Two perfumes that were really ME in the 90's were DK MEN and D&G PH.
Balenciaga Pour Homme and Heritage for me.
For me - Siecle by Fragonard
Remember that while it is perfectly acceptable to criticize the content of a post - criticizing the poster is not.
Mean spirited, nasty, snide, sarcastic, hateful, and rude individuals don't warrant or deserve other individuals' acknowledgement or respect.
While certainly not the "best of the 90s", there are two fragrances that defined life in the 90s for me:
Acqua di Gio for sure...Cool Water was big too...I'll go w/ the former.
Silver Mountain Water
Acqua Di Gio

Ok, Bulgari Black and Cartier Pasha.
Oops. Of course I had to forget what I wear more often than anything else becuase it's second nature by now. Bulgari green tea, with the entire bath and body line as my only delivery vehicles. If the "Most Worn" data included the data from, whatstheirnames, those guys, those guys from last year, then green tea would be at the top of my top ten by a significant margin.
Like a lot of other people, I first happened upon Bulgari Eau Parfumee au the Vert in a Four Seasons guest room bathroom. I asked Bulgari to hold a twentieth birthday party for it but they either didn't bother or they threw the party without inviting me.
L'eau dissey, le male , curve, MI.
