Default Favorite Sandalwood Scent with good longevity?

As title states, what is your favorite sandalwood scent but still has good longevity?
I keep finding ones that smell amazing for 2 hours and then are gone. (ex Tam Dao, Greyland, L'arbe)
I know true sandalwood has poor to moderate longevity anyways, but maybe there is one out there I haven't tried.
    Thanks in advance!

Chanel Bois des Isles and Egoiste are quite durable on me.

Mysore Sandalwood is supposed to be very long lasting, but it is now unavailable.

Unfortunately I didn't get much sandalwood from Bois des Isles.
Anybody know where I can get some Montale Santal de Mysore?

Buy Lorenzo Villoresi Sandal now. You can even get a sample from Lafco NY for $2.50 if you call them.

Chanel Bois des Isles - More sweet and rich
Chanel Egoiste - Just as rich as Bois des Isles, not as sweet

I prefer Bois des Isles, as I enjoy how the fragrances moves from top to bottom. It's absolutely lovely. I get about 8 hours from both fragrances.

Tam Dao is alright, but I'm with OP on this...lasts like an hour, or two. At that price point, gotta go with the Chanel, IMO.

I just bought Dark Oud and Lemon Oud Montale and it's 1/3 of what it was. Water down to the point of no return. I've heard many had the same experience with latest montale batches. I believe Santal will not be an exception.

Eden Botanicals has Mysore Sandalwood (Rare Sandalwood), along with Royal Hawaiian and Australian worth trying.
Enfleurage has Indonesian Sandalwood that is absolutely amazing.

I LOVE Tam Dao, but not a winner in the longevity department for me.

Not as smooth as Tam Dao, but very nice (after the 1st hour) is Serge Lutens Santal Majuscule. Also agree with Egoiste suggestions.

Egoiste but if you want really dark sandalwood try montale dark oud.

The type of sandalwood scent I am looking for is similar to Montale Greyland. Only problem is that Greyland lasts 1-2 hours on me tops. Thanks for the other recs though.
I will have to check out Egoiste again and some Villoresi.
Looking to spend for frags that aren't more than $2.5/ml if that helps. Can't break the bank at this time.

I've tried quite a number of sandalwood fragrances, and they all have some faults. Either longevity (1-2 hours), or are boring as heck monotone scents, or such dry and stark versions that are just not terribly enjoyable to wear. After all that testing and sniffing, I came back to a classic - Chanel Egoiste. It's rich, warm, VERY long lasting, creamy smooth sandalwood.

I may keep on searching as I love the note, but I think Egoiste will have a permanent spot in my collection as one of the most enjoyable sandalwood fragrances.

I bought a 4ml bottle of pure mysore sandalwood oil, dilluted it in a 200ml bottle of TAM DAO, and the results were amazing. Now the sandalwood note lasts for 24hours at least.

By The way, Hammam Bouquet has a delicious Sandalwood base that lasts forever.

I have just got a bottle today of the vintage Extract Of Mysore Sandalwood by Crabtree & Evelyn from the early Eighties. It has the most beautiful creamy buttery natural smelling sandalwood that is rich, smooth and mellow that I have smelled to date in a fragrance. I applied it at about 10am this morning and six hours later it's still going strong with average projection.

When I compare this to all the other sandalwood fragrances like Santal Noble, Santal Imperial etc they seem shallow and one dimensional in comparison. I'm smelling the basenotes on my arm right now and the mysore sandalwood note is soft and buttery, really beautiful santal note.

One that I've not seen mentioned before is Elizabeth Arden's offering. You use to be able to find them everywhere, but now they're not so easy to find. It was a very clean and smooth sandalwood if IIRC. Got a couple at FragranceX a while back, but have now used them up.

Currently though, I would use Green Irish Tweed or Egoiste. The sandalwood in the dry-down of both of these is pretty good if you ask me.

I've been trying out a few sandalwoods recently and my own favourite (so far) has been Villoresi's 'Sandalo'. I've found the longevity pretty good - still getting whiffs of it in the late afternoon from an early morning application.

Real sandalwood has excellent longevity and projection.

Try Lorenzo Villoresi's Sandalo for a real-world sandalwood or Santal Noble for a regal experience.

Crabtree&Evelyn Sandalwood: both formulations known to me (the 1970 and the 2004) are- at least to my nose- classy, unassuming, quite natural smelling sandalwood, conservatively elegant yet not that heavy, formal, dated, stuffy or overstated not to be worn currently by most age groups, good longevity and, in addition to that, relatively affordable.

^ Always great to see an old timer post

I may have to seek out this one in vintage form. I haven't heard much positive about the current stuff.
Seeking: Bottles/decants : of Feeling Man, Gucci pour Homme, Essence of John Galliano, Nicole Miller (vintage), Opium pour Homme, Oxford & Cambridge...etc.

Seeking decant/sample of Jil Sander Feeling Man, Cacharel Nemo, Bijan for Men EDC, Lanvin for Men, Giorgio VIP, Il Lancetti and other old school frags ....etc. I have samples to swap.
