    Default Your favorite tea?

Be it green, black or white, oolong or maté, tea is an often used and very distinctive note in a huge variety of fragrances. As the center of a fragrance composition, tea can assume many different characteristics, from a flowery and almost ethereal aroma to full-bodied dark, bitter or smoky accords. But which tea-centered perfume is your favorite?
My own vote goes to the bergamot-infused jasmine tea of Palais Jamais for its unique and addictive green bitterness - but which one do you like best? Maybe it's not even on my list?

Silver Mountain Water is by far the best tea I've smelled. Next is perhaps Armani's Figuier Eden, which has a noticeable tea. L'Occitane's The Vert is a nice scent with tea being dominant. It's surprisingly very long lasting.

I've yet to smell a tea scent that has anything more than a very vague resemblance to tea. The ones that come closest seem to be accords for scented teas, e.g. bergamot for early grey tea, jasmine for jasmine tea, etc. but really that is because of the bergamot and jasmine, etc. rather than the tea note.

Having gone off on that rant, it isn't an avenue I've pursued very far, so there may be scents out there that could convince me otherwise.

From this list I selected Bvlgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert, but I was actually meaning the Extreme version. Although I like GPH II, it only lasts about an hour on my skin, so with such major longevity issues, I simply can't endorse it as a favourite.

I also love Bvlgari's Eau Parfumée au Thé Rouge and actually find it to be the most 'tea' like of all the tea fragrances.
My current top 10 (subject to change) in no particular order:

Rive Gauche Pour Homme, Serge Lutens Cuir Mauresque, Armani Prive' Nuances,
Armani Prive' Bois d'Encens, Ermenegildo Zegna Indonesian Oud, Essenza de Zegna, Amouage Beloved Man, Fahrenheit Le Parfum, Dior La Collection Couturier Vetiver, and Rasikh Syed Junaid Alam.

Of the ones mentioned in the poll I enjoy L'Artisan's Tea For Two. As others have mentioned, GPHII is another nice tea scent however I find it a bit too synthetic. Another great one is the tea base Fougere, The Brun (Brown Tea) by Jean Charles Brosseau.

Tea for Two. It's really a masterpiece in my opinion.

Recently, my best friend smelled it on me, who really isn't into fragrance. He went nuts over it!

So for his birthday I got him a bottle.

A nice BN'er helped ease the blow of the cost. But L'artisan really screwed us all with its discontinuation. Bastards lol.

L'Artisan's Tea for Two and Murdock's Black Tea are both nice (after you get past the openings). I love the dry down of both of them. The only problem...Tea for Two is discontinued, and the shipping charge for Black Tea is almost as much as the cologne. So you have to pay pretty big bucks to get either of them.

Gucci Pour Homme II is my other preferred tea scent.

I drink tea instead of water everyday so I'm in love with the smell of tea

My black tea of choice is Harmatan Noir By PG, the tea note is quite similar to the one used in T42 but instead of being warm and spicy, this one is minty and very cold

I've yet to find a green tea scent that I really like

Is Yang still available anywhere? All I ever see is Yang 2, which I assume is entirely different.

Duel: one of the main notes is... Holly? Huh. I dated a Holly once. I don't remember her smelling particularly good. I'm not saying she smelled bad... but... well... she wasn't exactly noteworthy. Perhaps Annick Goutal thinks otherwise.

Interestingly (or not?) I don't smell any tea in Bvlgari Black, though I realize that tea is part of what combines to make up the rubber note. Bvlgari Black is something anyone who likes dark scents should own since it can be had for as little as $25 online. Thumbs way up on that recommendation.

Thanks for participating, everybody. For a long time, Gucci pH II looked like a clear winner, but Tea for Two has almost caught up with it by now, the two of them running far ahead of all the other contenders. Further down, Silver Mountain Water is in 3rd position just ahead of Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert. At the other end of the scale, five fragrances have yet to score a single vote. Very interesting!
Thanks again, guys - and do feel free to go on voting. The poll stays open!
