Default Three new launches from Le Labo: Lys 41, Ylang 49, Limette 37

Lys 41, created by Daphné Bugey.
Notes: Lily, Jasmine, Tuberose, Woods, Madagascan Vanilla , Tiare, Solar accord, Musk.

Ylang 49, created by Frank Voekl.
Notes: Ylang ylang, Tahitian gardenia, Patchouli, Oakmoss, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Benzoin.

    Limette 37, a city exclusive.
    From Le Labo's web site:
Don't expect Le Labo's San Francisco exclusive to be a chilly summer fog essence or the Golden Gate in a bottle.
Limette 37's reference to The City is abstract and delves into its olfactive construction that mimics the hilly ride from Le Labo's Fillmore street store to the bay. You start off with a view, with bergamote's freshness and light, before plunging into the warm and welcoming effects of jasmine, petit grain and clove that roll into luscious softness with vetiver, tonka beans and musks...

Limette 37 is an olfactive roller coaster, mingling an impression of cleanliness, freshness and well-being with that definite feeling that you are smelling special. In a good way of course.
    --------------------------

Lys and Ylang sounds sniff-worty to me. Limette, I don't know, there are tons of clean & fresh scents out there, can Le Labo really do something new in that area.

Thanks for the info. Not that excited about anything emanating from this house.

I'm in SF and was hoping for a more interesting scent than a citrus. Will have to see (smell)...
Was told they should have testers within a week or so.

Considering how unpredictable Le Labo's juice actually is, compared to past names and press releases, I am excited because I happen to be a fan of this house.

Yes, it sounds a bit dull, doesn't it? Please tell us your impressions if you get a chance to smell it.

It must be safe to assume, then, that Lys 41 smells of pumpkin, Ylang 48 of celery, and Limette 37 of diesel fuel in Los Angeles.

Having explored the house for quite some time now, I find the real gems to be in the city exclusive line so I'm looking forward to Limette 37. The last one for Chicago, Baie Rose 26 was awesome.

Are Lys and Ylang marketed as feminine fragrances? Judging by the notes, they seem so.

They are definitely leaning toward feminine in the marketing material. Lys is described as a big, white floral, and Ylang is a "voluptuous chypre floral".

Nice. I'm suprised to see Ylang included in the notes for 49 -- surely some mistake

Ylang 49 is just amazingly good. I get the gardenia, very prominently, thank goodness (sometimes I struggle with ylang ylang and it's banana facets) and just an amazing overall floral accord. Old school, smells like something Dior or Jean Patou would've made 40-50 years ago. I love it!

I agree with mike. The ylang is on my to-buy list. Complex classic floral - ylang, of course, but not a straightforward one. Much richer. Right now I have the bath oil and the body cream, quite voluptuous.

Voluptuous is a good word - I described it the other day as Jour d'Hermes' sexy older sister.

Oh I like it MUCH MORE than JdH, which I enjoy but I feel like the Le Labo is in a class all by itself.
