Default M7 on EBAY: is this legit? Can I be sure?

I'm dying to buy this!!! ...but I'm feeling skeptical. Think it's legit? Is there a question I can ask the seller that would help me know for sure? The seller sure seems good. 100% positive feedback and the account dates back to the year 2000. ...but I'm feeling skeptical.

    Thoughts?

Can never be 100% sure, but it looks like a good risk to take IMO.

Where in the heck would somebody be getting testers from years ago?

It does happen. I've recently stumbled upon quantities of fragrances that were discontinued some time ago. Sometimes, they just sit in a stockroom unnoticed through a few inventory cycles without being displayed for sale.

I ended up swapping a bit of email with the seller. Supposedly, he bought an entire lot that included multiple bottles. I don't get why he's pricing them so low unless he doesn't realize what he has. He was including a mini M7 with each purchase in the last batch, but it looks like he has a new ad up with a few more bottles, but now it's bottles only, no free mini... but still... vintage M7, 100ml, for $70? That's nuts.

I asked the seller to take a look at the bottle and confirm which he has: Does the bottle have brown glass on the front and clear glass on the sides? Or is the bottle brown on all four sides? He said brown on all four.

M7 Vintage bottle: Brown glass on all four sides.
M7 reformulation bottle: Clear glass on the sides.

I own M7 Oud Absolu, which I enjoy very much. I noticed that decantshop has M7 samples. I had them check their bottle and it's brown on all four sides - thus, vintage. I ordered a sample and unlike the Perfumed Court, decantshop shipped FAST! I was just curious to see what the difference between M7 and M7OA was.

M7 and M7OA smell very similar, and many reviewers are starting to really praise the new juice. Masters Of Style has a review up where he ranks M7OA as better than M7 reformulated. I've never smelled the reformulated juice, but I wore through my sample of M7 vintage, and here's how it differs from M7OA to my nose. The difference is tiny, yet it's pretty frigging huge if you're someone who notices details.

    Is it medicinal?
The top of M7OA isn't. NICE!
The top of M7 vintage has the medicinal vibe. ALSO NICE in a weird way.

    Is it burnt?
The heart of M7OA doesn't smell burnt.
The heart of M7 vintage smells a little burnt. LOVE!!!!!

    Incense, or powder?
The heart of M7OA is powdery on my skin. It's ok.
The heart of M7 vintage has an almost incense vibe. LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    How's the base?
The base of M7OA isn't sweet, but it is very good.
The base of M7 vintage is really sweet on my skin. It's almost reminiscent of the base of Andy Warhol by Bond. WOW!!!!!!!!!!

    Does it last?
M7OA has excellent longevity on my skin. On clothes, it's a beast. LOVE!
M7 has beastly longevity on my skin. On clothes, well... it'll be there for ages. SWOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Does it project?
I'm not a guy who seeks a projection beast, but I know that matters to some people. In my experience (which was limited to 1ml of M7 vintage):
    M7OA projects like a BEAST.
M7 projects, but not as much as M7OA. I actually prefer less.

If you adore massive projection and don't like the medicinal top of M7, I highly recommend M7OA. I haven't worn it on a date yet, but I handed a date the bottle and she swooned when she sniffed it. Her eyes closed as she clutched the bottle and I could hear her breathe it in a few times. Really, M7OA is some great juice. But I'm such a sucker for incense and that slightly burnt heart of M7 vintage. And the M7 vintage base has me over the frigging moon about the stuff.

I bought one. The price was good and the fact it was boxed sealed the deal. Blind buy for me but I'm anticipating liking it based on what I've read in the last few years.

It looks like the same seller has a total of 10 more 100ml bottles for sale, here and here for $69.99, and here for $89.99. When he said he had a lot of them to sell, he meant it. I'll be excited for mine to arrive, hopefully later this week. Assuming they're legit, he's nuts for selling at that price (though it looks like he's started increasing) and for flooding the market with them all at once. Weird!

Snagged one as well, good feedback only thing I hate is the fact it's from New York which always hits me as fake frag Capitol of the world. The perfect feedback sucked me in. Fingers crossed.

Damn you all! I just had to pick one up as well. I currently only have a 1.7oz of the first refourmulation, which I love, so the vintage can only be better. If nothing else it's a good investment. I'm sure it's legit, don't think this was ever popular enough to have been faked. Hop on the rest of them while they last!

It appears to have a tester cap, not the full sized cap that is the width of the bottle, which makes it look different, previous poster said the seller stated the bottle is brown on all four sides, which would be vintage.

How can you have M7 from 2000 when the fragrance wasn't released until 2002?

    - - - Updated - - -

I think it's good that we know who bought one from this seller so that it'll be easier to deal with in the even that they're fake... though it's sure looking like they're legit. Like I said, the seller has an account that dates back 13 years on ebay. People who deal in fakes usually have relatively recent accounts that maybe go back a few years at most.

    I'm excited. Fingers crossed.
