Post Signature scent - narrowed down

    Hey guys,
I posted a thread asking for suggestions on a fresh and clean signature fragrance for a 24 year old in college who also works in the finance sector. Something inoffensive that would please everyone and work during both summer and winter. I just got back from the mall and compiled a list of the scents I enjoyed.

    My favorites are:
    Lacoste Pure
    Burberry Brit
    YSL L'homme
    Channel Bleu

Please vote for what you think is the best scent, crowd pleasing, and versatile. Thank you!

Also, if there is one that I should definitely try that would fit my criteria feel free to post it as well and the reasoning for it.

Best Scent: Chanel Blue/YSL L'homme toss up....I enjoy them both
    Crowd Pleasing: Chanel Bleu
    Versatile: YSL L'homme

Flip a coin on this one...I think they're both great fragrances. I'd give the edge to L'homme on versatility alone and the fact it's not nearly as popular as L'homme. Either will suit you quite well.

For me, it would be a narrow choice between L'Homme and Bleu, enjoying both of them and also considering both equally suitable as everyday, all year round, signature scent.

Bleu or L'homme. I'm not a fan of how powdery brit is.

I was in the exact same situation as you recently, and I went for l'homme over bleu. Don't regret it, it's just. So much more versatile than bleu and so if you're just getting one, l'homme would probably be your best pick

I hugged a colleague, and reeeeaaaally liked what he was wearing. It was L'homme. It was great on him. I tried it on a strip of paper at the counter a few months later and this one is definitely one that you have to wear on skin for it to be fully appreciated.

Bleu is good but to me it's just a bit older.
Looking for THE femme fatale scent. If you think there is something I should smell please PM me!

Both l'homme and bleu are great, but I think bleu would win over l'homme in terms of appeal to the masses.

YSL L'Homme by far, used to be my signature scent. Now I don't have any signature scent lol.

Out of those choices, I prefer Brit. I've never heard of a Lacoste scent called "Pure". Are you sure that was the name? Hugo Boss has a scent called Boss Pure (an ozonic clean aquatic). I do like that one for a clean, floral, ozonic scent.

Bleu de Chanel is well made, but they are all fairly horrific.

What do you mean by horrific? I am new to this whole fragrance thing but I would be happy to try other scents!
I really was just looking for something clean that I can wear to school and work and during both cold winters and hot summers.

Edit: If I had to own only one fragrance, would none of these be good choices?

of the four, i prefer YSL L'Homme overall, but Bleu de Chanel would be a better day to day.

While not trying to speak for Pluran, he conveyed my very thought about all 4 with his descriptor, "horrific". That is not to say they will not work well for what you are trying to use them for, I just dislike them all...

If I could only own one fragrance (perish the thought) and needed something that was relatively easy to wear anywhere at a reasonable price and availability level I would turn first to something like Terre d'Hermes.

Bleu by far. Brit smells like bug spray.

I'm a fan of Brit, but it's not versatile enough for a signature scent. It's really only good for the fall and winter, possibly early spring. You would probably kill someone with it during the summer. If you have tried and liked all of those, go with YSL. I recommend a trip to a department store where you can try some more.

What brand of bug spray? I'd love to pick up a bottle for the summer!

    L'Homme.

    Versatile... sweet and softish spicy.

Bleu is what you wear when you graduate high school and you've outgrown A&F Fierce.

From your list, I'd pick in this order:

    1. Bleu de Chanel
    2. YSL L'Homme
    3. something else
    4. something else

I personally don't care for either Lacoste Pure or Burberry Brit. If anything, perhaps Burberry London - which is a very nice scent, though not sure if I'd want to wear it every single day.
