Default Dior Homme/Dior Homme Intense for a teen?

    Hey guys,
I'm 17 and in high school and I was wondering if Dior Homme or Dior Homme Intense would be a good fit for me, and which one would be better? I'm into quality designer frags (Chanel, Dior, YSL), and I already own Dior Homme Sport and absolutely love it. I'm a little hesitant about getting the others from the Homme line though, because of their apparent feminine qualities (lipstick/make-up smell from the iris note), but I wouldn't know because I've never smelled them since Dior frags aren't readily available to test in my region. Should I still clear of these two because I do want to play it somewhat safe and not offend anybody with my scent in class, even though I've heard nothing but good things about the two. As well, which one is less feminine smelling, or are they both the same?

I have the pre-reformulation Dior Homme and I enjoy it, not sure what they changed after the reformulation.

My advice is to give both of them a try. DH and DHI are incredibly safe scents, no one in highschool will be offended.

    One has less iris/makeup note.

Even though I absolutely love them now, I don't think I would've been comfortable wearing DH/DHI in high school. I was wearing stuff like Polo Sport and Nautica Original though, so that may not be saying much

Agree with mjones602 on this one. Although, if you are confident enough and are'nt worried about being a little different and unique, then go for it. At your age, you might get an idiot here or there asking you why you are wearing perfume. I love them both now, at 36, but wouldn't have been comfortable wearing them when i was 16-17. But i was very self conscious at that age. My suggestion would be order a sample from a place like the DecantShop.com first, and give it a test drive before commiting to a bottle.

I think either one would be fine for a 17year old with the edge going to the non-intense version. Both very nice though.

Wassup bro, this scent is not a matter of age IMHO, it is a matter how develop your nose is and how comfortable you are on being a men, that does not leave the standard and level and ASSURANCE of HIS manhood on other's lips but is self assure of whom HE is and enjoys this scent because HE love the composition and masterfully blend of this sexy beast :NOW Age standard of wearing this scent is not written on stone..... So wearing this scent is very subjective and only will appeal to those whom appreciate the magnificent take on IRIS, cacao ...etc notes on this frag. I personally made a revisit before appreciating this sexy beast and it takes sometimes a few wears on certain individuals before appreciating the gorgeous notes that exude out from DHI. So yes you can be older then 40 or younger then 20 and not be wowed by this Scent and considered it to feminine but that's always subjective but from experience Women love this scent on a mans men that doesn't care if categorize a metro -sexual or man that enjoy out of the box scent with major sex Appeal.....BTW this frag projects SEXINESS in all caps...most sensual fragrance I've had a take on albeit Vintage or reformulation......peace and God bless...

DH is more fresh to DHI. I suggest giving them both a try.

For a teen, i'm leening towards DH.

Haven't tried Dior Homme Intense, but I did wear Dior Homme shortly after it came out when I was 22. And I got complimented on it regularly.

    Go for it.

Where what you like...Im not sure at 17 what I would have worn only because waaaaay back then we didnt have the means like we have today to get exposure to all these different bottles of juice BUT...if we did...Im sure I would have rocked either of them.

I would choose Dior Homme for you at the moment. Dior Homme has a bit more violet while Dior Homme Intense a bit more vanilla at least to my nose. However, if you prefer more vanilla, go with DHI. Both are solid.

I'm against labeling scents as belonging to certain age groups. I say buy a cheap sample decant of each and find out! DHI is one of my favorite fragrance experiences. Good luck!

I think if people at your school aren't threatened by a man that looks and smells good then Dior homme would be perfect. You have to dress the part though, no baggy pants and nba jerseys with this one.

As far as the scent itself, I own the reformulated version and love it. I'm sure all the girls will too. The intense version should be left at home during the day, stuff projects like crazy on me

IMO, I would strongly recommend against Dior Homme for a teen due to its strong Iris. but the Iris in Dior Homme Intense is more smooth and it is definitely one of the best night or cold weather fragrances IMO.

I would suggest getting a sample first.
