Thread: Your favorite honey/beeswax?
Found in a number of variations and compositions, honey notes add a balsamic sweet softness and round off flowery and spicy-woody notes with a savory effect in many gourmands and orientals. Beeswax is a lot like honey but with a waxier and grassier, more hay-like character. But which honey- or beeswax-centered fragrance is your personal favorite - or which one makes the best use of the honey/beeswax note?
My own vote goes to the honey-drenched animalic/sweet skankiness of Absolue pour le Soir - but which one do you like best? Maybe I didn't even list it?

To be fair...I haven't smelled many of the frags on your poll...but I would like to as I am on a big honey kick right now. I voted other because I have a bottle of CB I Hate Perfume Wildflower Honey and man is it amazing!! But, then again, it is all honey with a tiny bit of floral to it. I love the stuff, but it's linear and straightforward...and I love it that way. I will continue sniffing out Honey frags where and when I can.
Lanvin avant garde is a quality beeswax scent.

While Onda is my favorite from the list outright, for beeswax I always think of vintage Antaeus by Chanel, so it would be "other" for me.

1) Portrait of a Lady original formula (EdP Frédéric Malle)
2) Giorgio for Men vintage/V.I.P. for Men (Giorgio Beverly Hills)
3) Dia Man vintage edt (Amouage)

I love APLS and Sweet Oriental Dream
... And do me a favor - don't disturb my friend. He's dead tired.
Welcome to the Bwahahaha! era...
TUM TUM PISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While honey is not listed among the notes in Lush's The Smell of Weather turning, beeswax can be found in it if you know what you're looking for, and is quite nice although it might take some getting used to at first.
I absolutely adore Moss Breeches
My current top ten:
1. Oud Wood
2. Straight to Heaven
3. Epic Man
4. Santal 33
5. Tonka Imperial
6. Pure Malt
7. Jubilation XXV
8. L'air Du Desert Marocain
10. Terre D'Hermes
I'm a honey nut!
My favorite of all time is MAC Naked Honey and Africanimal, which are quite similar. Then I love Ginestet Botrytis, then Miel de Bois.
In the set I voted APLS. But vintage Schiaparelli Shocking honeyed animalics would have won, had said scent still been available.
Forgetting Antaeus is a travesty, to which I say... other!
Méchant Loup isn't too bad itself, nor is Leather Oud by Dior.

+1 what cacio said. Voted "other" since my collection includes the mighty Kouros! Wonderful honey notes.
I try to do my best with these polls - I know they are not perfect. That's why I make sure there's always an "others" option. But I do hope people have fun participating, nonetheless, and I very much appreciate all votes, comments, and suggestions.
As for Leather Oud: similar issue, I opted for Bois d'Argent from the house of Dior. However, Leather Oud featured in my "favorite leather" poll a good while ago - and you're very welcome to vote for it there: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/317...her?highlight=

While I do love AplS very much, Slumberhouse Sova takes the cake for me as it contains one of the most incredible (and stupidly expensive) beeswax absolutes that I've ever smelled. Naturally animalist and dirty (which is really what beeswax smells like), and paired beautifully with the hops and the hay, it's a highly unique scent for sure. Very sad to see it phased out, but given the ingredients (the beeswax for one thing), it's absolutely understandable as to why. I'm just glad that I stocked up while I could.
vintage Antaeus for me.
Lush Orange Blossom
I voted Other, and the reason is Back to Black. Best honey I know of.
Teasing by Melfleurs would be my pick.
Remember that while it is perfectly acceptable to criticize the content of a post - criticizing the poster is not.
Mean spirited, nasty, snide, sarcastic, hateful, and rude individuals on Basenotes don't warrant or deserve my or other Basenoters' acknowledgement or respect.
Another vote in favor of vintage Antaeus
APLS. I also like Tenere and Mamluk enough to own. I have not tested most on the list though.
Not on the list, I appreciate the contribution the honey accord makes to Kouros, Paco Rabanne, Ted Lapidus pH, Balenciaga pH, Nicole Miller for men, Chergui, Fumerie Turque, 5 o'clock au gingembre, Tea for Two, Back to Black, Havane, and Leather Oud. To me Hugo Boss - Boss borders on too much: Slumberhouse Miel is too much (of a good thing).

It doesn't specifically have a honey note, but I enjoy Tobacco Vanille. I've smelled Noel au Balcon, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
Les Zazous Eau de Parfum by Keiko Mecheri
Notes: Rose, lavender, sandalwood, balmy notes, vetiver, ambergris, mahogany honey wax, iris, blonde tobacco, incense and vanilla
1. Amouage Reflection Man

Mazzolari Patchouli has a great honey beeswax note that gives this pathcouli even more animal warmth. Not the primary note, but this fragrance is just average without the honey note. With it is spectacular. I hope they haven't changed it.
favorites: • l'homme infini divine • heely eau sacree • heely phoenicia • uae aoud • mississippi medicine • african leather • guerlain neroli outrenoir • sammarco vitrum • memo irish leather • eau des sens • dress code • noorolain taif
Wearing APLS today and loving it
Vote✔️ pick Bois D'argent
"Thank GOD for the nose, for without it we would not be enjoying these beautiful created Scents" also Remember "Balance is everything and the key to appreciating "
Another vote for "other" thanks to Back to Black.
But the honey accords in Pure Havane and Kouros ain't bad either.
"The stench / The stench / Of summer sex / And CK Eternity, oh hell yes"
-Fall Out Boy, "Uma Thurman"
Yup, I'm with the Antaeus crowd for this. Wonderful beeswax and leather combination in that scent for me. Shame about the reformulations though as it just smells of soap now.
I'm probably in the minority, but I don't like honey in fragrances, at least not as a major note. I don't mind it in very small doses, like I beleieve there may be a smidgen of honey in Animale Animale, which is a fragrance I love. But, as for dominating notes, honey is a big no for me, and that goes double for beeswax.
I take that back, I do love Ambre Narguile, which has a very dominant honey note.

My Ultimate Top 5:
Le Vetiver Itasca (2010)
Burberry London (2006)
Eau des Baux (2006)
Arpege pour Homme (2005)
I would go with Chergui.
My first thought was "Sova" so I voted "other."
