Default Fragrances by Aramis - Which ones do you like and recommend?

Wanted to know what you think about the fragrances from Aramis in their current formulations. I have only tried only the original in its current formulation and I like it. Which of the others do you recommend?
In addition, any idea from where I can get samples for the fragrances. What are the brick and mortar stores in the US that carry a good selection from this house?
    Thanks!

Speaking only for myself, to answer the thread question, don't care for any although this house has its fans on Basenotes. I'm sure you'll get
a good share of recommendations from others. (233)

I like the house, hard to beat the price/quality ratio. I especially like Aramis 900. Which is pretty much like Aromatics Elixir but a touch lighter and more floral. And Aramis is a classic, though I prefer perhaps its sister Azuree, which is more citrusy and refined (Aramis is the masculine branch of the Estee Lauder company, which also owns Clinique. Some scents thus correspond in the two line). I also like Tuscany, a classic italian style herbal. The only one I dislike is the new gentleman flanker, a nob to sporty masculines that should have no place in a distinguished line.

The vintage versions are stronger and more long lasting, but I am satisfied with the current formulation too.

My local Macy's carries the line, but I've noticed many other Macy's only have Aramis.

I like calligraphy and calligraphy rose, the rest of line is not my taste.
Calligraphy is like an 80s chypre with an Oud twist. Calligraphy Rose will appeal to more people though.

Tuscany vintage or the green fluid batch of the Gent collection, last version the blonde fluid one is a waste of money!

Aramis, Tuscany, Havana. 900, JHL, (New West).

I think original Aramis has been degraded by reformulation (= on my skin almost non-existent, given the fact it used to be a "powerhouse"). Also I own Havana and JHL. The first has addictive top notes and a not so distinctive drydown (on my skin; becomes flat all too quickly), while JHL retans much of its initial intensity during the following hours. The comment I got on Havana (by a person who knows my interest in fragrance and was used to smell different scents on me) was: 'Today you're wearing a more traditional masculine fragrance'. I love to imagine JHL as a valid masculine Opium.

I still feel the current formulation of Aramis for men to be a powerful scent.
The current Tuscany per uomo is still wonderfull: crispy , spicy, longlasting ... should be wore at least once in your life.
my current top five (always in transition)

    Dior Eau Noire
    HdP 1725 Casanova
    eau de gloire parfum d'empire
    Dia man Amouage
    comme des garçons man 2

I love most and find all of them excellent values. My favorites in order of preference are JHL, Havana, Aramis 900, Tuscany and New West for Him. The vintage formulations are superior, but even the current versions are great.
    Current Top Favorites:
    1) Portrait of a Lady (EdP Frédéric Malle)
    2) Giorgio for Men vintage (Giorgio Beverly Hills)
    3) Dia Man vintage edt (Amouage)
    4) Les Nombres d'Or Vetyver (Mona di Orio) - tie
    4) Lalfeorosa (O'driù) - tie

    6) Anat Fritz Original Formula and Classical (Anat Fritz)
    7) Captain vintage (Molyneux)
    8) Tzora (Anat Fritz)

This is the one that I wish to try from this house, what do you think of it? Hows the longevity, silage and projection?

JHL and Aramis 900 are my favorites(both current and vintage)
Havana also smells great in current formulation
Tuscany and Aramis I like only in vintage.
I'm on the fence about Devin: it is challenging to wear.
New West is one of the few aquatics I can tolerate.

Always been a Aramis 900 fan since being a teenager. I still have a vintage version that is about gone but it really has a strong delivery. Devon in it's day was a good one for date nights and a real compliment getter. However, I haven't bought anything from this house in years.

It doesn't seem to get much love around BN, but I quite like Cool Blend. And Bermuda Tonic is one of the few bottles for which I own a back-up.

Default Fragrances by Aramis - Which ones do you like and recommend?

Of the ones you can find here in the UK:

    Aramis
    Gentleman
    900
    JHL
    Tuscany
    Devin
    Life

I would only really buy 900 or Aramis. I used to like Tuscany, but it seems my tastes have changed a little and my dislike of the Fougere accord has got stronger, so now even Tuscany isn't on my wish list any more, though I can still appreciate how well made it is. The aldehydes in JHL are too much, Devin is just harsh, and Life is dull. Gentleman is likeable but not worthy of a bottle.

You used to be able to get Cool Blend and Bermuda Tonic here, both are great, I'd rate them above Aramis but below 900.

I'd really like to try Havana because I've yet to find a Tobacco frag I didn't like.
