Ceterum censeo - I still think that there should be a list of how many times were frags worn with the list of how many people worn. Lists should also be ALL, not just top 50

A little update, a thought just struck me, for each fragrance in the directory - number of people owning it, have owned it, have worn and number of wears.

Those would be cool features ZGB, I've often thought about those and my vote's with you!

About SOTD though: I noticed that now you're only allowed to post the same fragrance once every six hours - I understand the arguments above why this was instituted (fear that people are posting the same fragrance 20 times to have it in the top ten?) but I find this change very annoying - I sometimes forget to add my SOTD, or go out of town and don't have internet access etc, and then want to catch up, and therefore add the same scent a few times. This makes doing that extremely annoying. I also added scents 20 or so times after the several months when SOTD wasn't available to bring them up to date... I dunno what others think, but I would like it to go back to the old way in this regar

Thanks for your support. I believe this will come due in some time and some time it might take, non the less, if it makes sense it is bound to happen

It's annoying, I agree, but something had to be done to stop people from spamming/manipulating the list. And was not a fear that people might do it, some did post very questionable stats, to the annoyance of many members. I think is was sensible to have no time limits when members had to catch up after the de-huddlerisation of the site, but I would guess that most members have their wardrobe stats up to date by now.

My opinion is that the posting interval could be much shorter than 6 hours, but I do think, unfortunately, that we need to keep this feature to avoid spamming.

So, what's with the whole personal sotd list? Still only get to see the wears 2 months back.

I see the six hour single post limit is not in effect. Some are posting multiple times in a single day just as before. Not sure what this is all about.

One may post different scents, just not the same one within the time limit.

Some find it useful to record when testing.

I'm relieved about that - but furrypine - why would anyone waste time hitting SOTD multiple times??

I know that when the SOTD feature was working again after being disabled for several months, I probably looked like I was spamming cause I was just updating my stats according to an excel file I was keeping in the interim.

What's to prevent folks from listing everything under the sun? This seems silly.

If that's what they wish to do they might, but members don't appear to be abusing it imo.

Only a few are listing to excess but they seem pretty devoted to the practice. Enough people are doing this as to completely invalidate any usefulness in calculating how 'popular' some scents are. It just seems a shame.

If we read Grant's post somewhere, the way that stats are collected has been altered so one person wearing something repeatedly doesn't affect anything other than their own stats...

Not sure what that means when someone posts 15 scents on one day. That would certainly skew statistics, it seems to me. Isn't that like voting multiple times at the ballot box?

Not if you programme it right.

The stats are looking pretty good now compared to previously imo..

I did side-by-side tests of four rose oud scents on the 19th and on the 20th tested five makeup-y rose violets. I posted all except Parfums d'Armando Martinez Maquillage (it's unlisted) in SOTD. Was it my posts that caught your eye kumquat?

Haha, no not you. It's one person who is still very energetic. And if you look at their past posts (tulips) they are really numerous. I just wonder what for. It's weird.

It became a sport for some members to try to push obscure fragrances into the top lists by listing them as SOTD 15-20 times a day. And if you do that diligently over a month, you can push any old thing into the top 10 .

I remember that one. Member "Francop". He sure is much much more "silent" since the imposed changes.

I see, that makes sense then. But now that they programmed it somthat multiple uses per day doesn't affect the global stats then hopefully we'll be able to do multiples again without waiting 6hrs,
