    Default Most complimented Fragrance

The MFD has this question and I am jealous. So how about for the ladies? Which fragrance do you get the most compliments on?

My SO always complments me when I'm wearing Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan. I get a lot of compliments with Montale Jasmin Full from other guys as well.
Looking for THE femme fatale scent. If you think there is something I should smell please PM me!

Lol, this topic sure comes up a lot!

There are plenty more if you search on "compliments", but here are a few threads with lots of responses you might enjoy looking through -

    http://www.basenotes.net/threads/291...ht=compliments
    http://www.basenotes.net/threads/186...ht=compliments
    http://www.basenotes.net/threads/279...ht=compliments
    http://www.basenotes.net/threads/259...ht=compliments

As I mentioned in one or two of those threads, I get more compliments on my sweet and rich perfumes that any others, and most of my vintage beauties are largely ignored, or maybe just barely tolerated ...the general public does not appreciate my classic chypres, lol! But some that do get lots of positive feedback include L'Instant, which has always been a head-turner, but I haven't been wearing it much lately. Coco still gets a lot of love, though - I'd say it's been my single most complimented perfume throughout the years, though Coromandel could be catching up to it. A few others that I've received compliments on more recently include Chanel Beige and 1932, MFK APOM Pour Femme, Amouage Lyric, and Annick Goutal Songes. My most surprising compliment lately was about Nahema, which I really never expected since even I find it rather difficult to love on some days ...though it was smelling particularly divine on the day in question.

I get a compliment every time I wear M7. That may be just because it projects a lot. I don't get many compliments, but have had them with Ormonde Woman, Dries Van Noten, and What We Do In Paris Is Secret.

It does come up a lot but I noticed that it is always in the MFD and I rarely see the female take on it , hence this thread. Sorry if it is repetitive. I should have done a search.

I tend to get compliments more on the ones that are recognizably perfume. I think people are hesitant to say something if they don't know what they're smelling (so quirky scents are less mentioned). So the ones that I've had compliments on would be things like Coco, Hypnotic Poison, L'Heure de Nuit (hubby loves this one), Eau Duelle, Dries Van Noten...

Oh danieq, I didn't mean to imply that it's a nuisance, just that it's a popular topic! I actually enjoyed looking over some of the older threads to see which responses have changed, and which never do. No surprise that I mention Coco again and again, but I almost forgot how much I used to enjoy Pink Sugar, and I see I'm not the only one who can attest to what a crowd pleaser it is. Like I said back then, the crowd sure does like it sweet! My current favorite sweetie is Dior Addict, one that I forgot to mention - that usually catches a compliment or two.

Men compliment Mure et Musc Extreme the most on me, oddly the comment I get is "sexy", which I don't smell in there, but not gonna argue.

Reglisse Noire has gotten compliments from guys, but only numbers guys, LOL. Accountants and insurance guys. It is beautiful and does manage to smell "smart" to me, which is odd to say, I know.

Barbara Bui, Jardin Sur la Toit, and Love Etc. have gotten compliments from women. Actually sold Jardin Sur La Toit for Hermes just by wearing it, a coworker ran back to her desk and ordered it online when she smelled it.

That's about it, I don't usually get smell compliments. Oh, except for the Coffee Coco Curl Crème, which isn't a perfume. That stuff smells compellingly good.

Aha! Thanks for explaining dear Evangeline. I do hate the idea of being a nuisance and sometimes I feel like the resident 5 year old with all of my questions.

I too enjoyed having a look at those threads.

On the subject, I rarely get compliments, but I got one today wearing Amouage Fate Woman. It came from a super classy older lady I know and it made me smile.
