Default Mother Of All Powerhouses - Passion d'Homme

It's strange that so little is mentioned or known about this killer fragrance.
I would love to know the notes and nose behind this one, but there is virtually no info on it.
Rodier launched it in 1999 Although unique, its sheer strength made it its own worst enemy.
It flopped and seemed to vanish off the face of the earth. It was charismatic, but unfortunately for most people proved unwearable.

I have a few by Rodier, and like the ones I have, but this one I don't have. Thanks for sharing the info David.

I can't imagine it. If Chanel's Coromandel is bombastic, is the one you are mentioning even stronger than it? Gosh... Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Pollux,
I have only sampled Coromandel once, a long time ago, (I think it's a fantastic fragrance by the way !).......and it was even longer ago that I tried Passion d'Homme, so comparisons and descriptions would be impossible. I do remember that Passion d'Homme had a very warm gourmand feel. possibly with a chocolate note ??? It was definitely a Winter scent and I think quite spicy ?..........I do know of a perfumery that has it, but no tester available - so I might take a chance and buy it. If I do I will post a new thread.

Here is an old thread which mentions Passion in a discussion about Rodier Pour Homme.

    Hi Noggs,
Yes, the link you provided shows the perfume I'm referring to. The link from you regarding the thread/ discussion is really helpful. There does seem to be some confusion going on in the thread and two completely different fragrances are getting mixed up. The Passion d'Homme is definitely the coffee gourmand one. The dry green herbal description is another Rodier perfume.
This link has helped to jog my memory. I think Passion d'Homme was like a sort of Yohji Homme on steroids.....and I agree totally with The Odour that it was more of a young crowd creation.
