    Default Guerlain Les Exclusives Line

After my last purchase, Derby in the woody bottle, which I REALLY love as the perfect woody/green/leather scent, I would like to make me another gift from the exclusive line.

    My choise is between

    Cuir Beluga
    SDV

I find them very similar whit a sublime vanilla note..

On me Cuir Beluga turn into a very sweet powdery scent (which a like so much) but I can smell also a "white leather jacket" in the background

So which one I should pick?

AND, from the same line which is another great option for a christmas gift?

I completely fall in love eith Guerlain...

    Thanks a lot guys!

Why stick to just the exclusive line? Guerlain has treasures across the board, and almost all of them have vanilla in the drydown. Just make your way to a big shop and go trigger-happy!

Cuir Beluga hands down I bought it for my wife last week and she keeps getting compliments, every time she wears it she is surrounded by a exquisite aura , it may not seem like a sillage monster but it is to my surprise, it last all day long.

If you want something fancy I'd try Arsene Lupin (formerly Dandy), an enrapturing violet/suede/cardamom blend.

    Aah, I understand :-)

I second the suggestion of Arsene Lupin - really a very nice scent, and not so common. Songe d'Un Bois d'Ete is also rightly popular around these parts, if you like dark, rich and smoky fragrances.

Since you like Derby, you'll probably like Arsene Lupin

I think SDV and Cuir Beluga have a lot in common, but I would go with Cuir Beluga between the two.

My favorite Guerlain fragrances are currently Bois d'Armenie, Tonka Imperiale, and Derby. Arsene Lupin Dandy is also quite nice (but Voyou is quite bad IMO).

+3 or 4 for Arsene Lupin Dandy. Other good ones are Bois d'Armenie & all 3 from the new Desert series...

Between the two, Cuir Beluga, SDV smells sharp to me. In general, I prefer the regular Guerlain line. In the expensive one, I'd also go for the Lupin dandy instead of CB (I dislike the voyou).

Derby is one of the few fragrances that is actually somewhat faithful to the original.
