Smile Re: Proxisante is going to get some interesting things

    Just looked at this.

Ipp – You are right, sincerely, not in a rush to fall foul with you so if my actions caused offence let me say sorry as you are by far the fairest moderator here. The code was too close to the bone, I accept this, so I have altered it. From now on I will keep off other people’s threads.

Pears- Agree with your thoughts – to a large extent people will stay local but I think with Europe – we have a bigger tendency to shop around within Europe for specialist materials – we have to - for its worth my own sales data suggests this as well.

Not sorry for my actions regarding competition, not fussed if he can or can’t handle pressure and honestly think it’s been over dramatized – the chap has sent back a product – big deal, cry me a river. But I do acknowledge the code was too close to the bone. Also I do find the French companies have a tendency to be up themselves regarding naturals – more the independent types – they think their farts smell of roses most of the time - so given the chance I will have no hesitation at all in ripping his heart out and serving it up with a plate of chips and a diet Pepsi ( I need to lose a few pounds). I suspect he is not like this though based on how Gecko writes (another true gent) but I feel otherwise based on my own experiences generally with the French independents and the fact Nizan can’t be around people for half an hour due to how this French man makes him feel. And right now I agree with Graphite – it’s a lot of shadow boxing.

Final point though – prior to my comments this thread had about 800-850 comments I think within a month or so – I comment and in a few days the view count hits nearly 1800 and the thread gets a lot more activity. Same with the Haven Essence thread – same with my huddler thread - so maybe I have helped him, especially as he contributed squat to this thread personally - not even a public thank you to his followers. Au revoir, Adam

At the risk of reigniting the competitive spirit above, I though I'd let everyone know I got a sample of Robertet's "Bigardier coeur" from Philippe, and it is truly a fantastic substance. He will be carrying it shortly on his website. It could almost be a perfume all by itself. A petitgrain without the roughness and a soaring lightly woody neroli quality. I imagine a skilled perfumer could replicate this with chemicals, but I know I can't and so I think its pretty neat.

Wow, amazing thread with lots of involved comments in a short time. Haven't finished reading it yet but intend to.

The French website would be a barrier to me as an "intellectually lazy American."

Otherwise, can't think of a more alluring line of products, if all the other "Ducks were in a row".

But right now to avoid potential dissapointment I will keep it in the "too good to be true" file, as regards a reliable, reasonable source of these perfume quality materials. Hopefully, I can solidify thinking on it soon. Reading the rest of the thread should help!

With a new website Proxisante seem to be delivering internationally.

Mimosa absolute olesscense (low temperature extraction) from Robertet is new, as is Pacific seaweed.

Interestingly to me there is a category for Natural Isolates, though with only 2 items just yet.

UK delivery is free for orders of 120 Euro. Israel also has free delivery now though I suspect country details are still be worked out. If any rosbifs here wants anything please pm me before this evening.

I believe he will also have and English language website up soon, or at least that's what I think I understood... (for DrSmellthis, the "intellectually lazy American")

Actually I've been scheming over some of your synths! I will have to wait till March, though.. Why don't governments help fund DIY perfumers? argh..

Though I have to say, his shipping is giving you fierce competition!

I was going to write a not very politically correct message.. But I'll leave that to your imagination
It was a weird experience indeed.. Especially my reaction.. A professor I worked with used to call
me idiot and moron and I didn't really mind.
Any chance there's some farnesene coming your way as well? Really curious about the stuff you
    didn't u/l yet..

I have ordered a couple of times from Proxisanté and have to say that the products and the service are absolutely fantastic. Very fast shipping from France to Germany and swift sending of CofAs which is often a Problem with overseas companies. Highly recommended!!!

Cool Re: Proxisante is going to get some interesting things

Just to say although a fair bit of the Rtet materials are online now I will be uploading a few more next week for anyone who still may be interested in this thread - appreciate this thread is older than a dinosaur now though. Anyway next week and these materials are available - Clove Bud Abs, Cedar Heart Atlas, Poplar Buds molecular distilled, Ginger Abs, Cedrat Heart, Eucalyptus Abs, a speciality Coffee abs, what else, Guaiac heart for Nizan, Elemi Heart, and that Lislylang and that Bois de ecens. Also this Seaweed colourless abs that Proxisante offers from Rtet - 2ml's for 67 Euros on their site. Now if I do some maths or math if we are being American then I work out 10ml is 335 Euros - I also offer this exact same product now and my 10ml price is 19.99GBP. No differences at all with the product.

Adam, here's one for you: "Fumencens" from Payan Bertrand - ever deal with them? It is "Obtained by special slow destructive distillation of olibanum gum (Boswellia carterii Birdw)". I got the Bois d'encens from Proxisanté and wasn't that keen on it. This one is supposed to be a really smokey church incense type scent. Paul Kiler has tried it, I believe. Might be one to think about.

Seaweed abs sounds very interesting, you describe it on your site as having less longevity than the regular absolute - what kind of longevity are we talking about - hours, days, weeks? I've never tried it.

Adam, do you think you could get the Sunflower essential oil from Robertet???????? Please............

  22. #82

Cool Re: Proxisante is going to get some interesting things

Sorry Renegade - I meant Bois de Landes will be added. Already added the bois d'encens - sells under Incense Wood name, http://www.hermitageoils.com/incense...ntial-oil-1158
personally it pushes my buttons greatly and yes I agree its not smokey but tbh Im kind of happy it isn't, I think its perfefction in a bottle, the sacra is really clear, warm, resinous with that lemony freshness we get from this material - which is carteri by the way as regardless of botanical name they are the same tree. If smokeyness is a word people associate with this product Id guess thats from the VIrginnian Cedarwood but again smokey is not really a word I'd associate at all with this material. Smokey to me is Guaiac wood or Budha or even Hiba not this. As for contacts I can't say yes or no, its a public forum, in no rush to reveal a single supplier I work with - so Ill just say this....give me a few weeks!! Seaweed on triethylcitrate - hours, the absolute is days I find and really is better value for money - just my early thoughts so far. Still really aqautic, marine, seaweedy like, but yes it runs out of steam pretty quickly, the depth is missing when you compare it to true Seaweed abs but it costs a fraction of the price so its maybe expected.

Hi Jazztweety, surely you are pulling my leg I thought - Sunflower essential oil!! Never knew it existed, only aware of a carrier oil. I look in the big Rtet book they gave me and yes you are right it seems, incredible, wow, thats actually really surprised me. Ill ask them tomorrow about it Jazztweety. Love to Germany and congrats on the Fragrantica article - just checked out your link, groovy.

Oh, I meant the "Fumencens" from Payan Bertrand is supposed to be smokey, sorry - bad writing on my part. No, I don't find the Robertet Bois d'Encens smokey either. It's not bad at all, but I was expecting something more unique - it seems like you could get much the same effect by mixing frankincense and cedar oils together yourself. I found it seems to smell like frankincense for a while, then veer into cedar, then back to frankincense for the dryout. I was expecting something more homogenous. Maybe it's the freshness of the oil and it will settle after some aging.

Thanks for the seaweed info, very interesting.

I'll ask to smell the Sunflower again at the Robertet booth on Saturday March 8th. I smelled it last year, I think, But even though I kept all the smelling strips (long quenched, I just kept them for remembrance of what I smelled) I'm not sure that the sunflower really wowed me... But I'll check again next weekend...

I'm curious about the Sunflower essential oil as well, I'm wondering if it might be like a weaker version of Arnica abs perhaps, I don't know, we shall see cupcake!

And Renegade I know what you mean about mixing them together, I was thinking that as well but such a product couldn't be produced for the price rtet are selling this for by the kilo. Maybe the Guaiac Heart might be more your thing Renegade, either standalone or mixed with frankincenses - the rivae species perhaps, as thats more midnight mass churchy lets get religious and prey type of a frankincense - none of the lemon sweetness you get with most of the other species available.

Adam, thank you! This is going to make my day!!! I think this raw material is a relatively new one and quite unknown so far. I guess Robertet are the only producers of it.
Adam, I guess it is not sensational on it's own like other absolutes, but great to impart an earthy and green vibe in the perfume. Let's see if we can find out....

Cool Re: Proxisante is going to get some interesting things

Never sniffed one Sir Nizan, tried growing them a few times but they always died on me.

I asked the question jazztweety, a fair few are on holiday right now but by Monday I should have a quote and some more info on it. I'll then request a sample or two and see what others think before deciding if it should be stocked. Have you actually smelled it Jazztweety, if not maybe you would like to share the sample I get? If so I'm happy to do this. If you have smelled it I'd be keen to know how you describe the aroma, appearance and what materials you think it works well with. Adam

No Sunflower I have ever been near has smelled in the slightest; although Sunflower Seed oil is used in cooking (I use it) and it has a typical, cooking oil smell. Wonder which part of the flower the oil is extracted from?

  31. #91

Default Re: Proxisante is going to get some interesting things

Adam, thanks a Million! I'd be more than happy to share the sample! I will pm you my contact details. I have not smelled it myself, but a friend of mine overseas smelled it on an exhibiton from Robertet and brought it to my attention.
David, I suspect it's made from the rest of the flower, after the seed has been removed. Like you say, the flowers are not particularly fragrant, only very lightly. But that light smell I get is more on the green and earthy side than floral.

I think that there was a modicum of interest between the Naturals crowd here on the USA West Coast, following our Robertet presentation. But there did not end up being enough interest for meeting the minimum to split it up. So the buy didn't go through.
