Look at my second post in response to what you said. I totally think it does. My mind didn't just change in a matter of seconds. However if it doesn't bother you than go for it. I'm no chemist, I can't tell you if your juice has changed due to air damage or not. But the thing is it makes sense that a cap protects the juice from air, which can be very damaging considering when a fragrance is exposed to air it will evaporate and slowly fade away. So no, I'm not flip flopping, I'm just not going to tell you guys what to do. I've proven my point and gave you an example, now it's a decision you have to make for yourself based on what you think, but again I will never buy a bottle with no cap

So I purchased the Virgin island 4.0 with a cap. Not sure if my phobia was well founded. At least I have a cap for my future creed purchases. Is there a way to buy caps from people that don't want or need them? Lol

Now this is just a theory but creed sprayers have a bb in them. I'm wondering if it helps to prevent air from entering through the tube?

Doubt it. I wouldn't put a cap on a fragrance it doesn't belong to though, as after a couple sprays your cap will smell of some luscious VIW.
I'm sitting next to my cabinet so I actually just took a wiff of my cap for the hell of it hopefully Wednesday will be warm enough in Chicago to pull this one out again..

Wouldn't surprise me. If there is a bb, it must be there to serve a purpose. I still stick behind my buying with a cap logic though

No, It doesn't make sense at all. As I've stated, the atomizer is already affixed on the bottle air tight. The cap is meaningless. Why would companies send out thousands of testers with no caps knowing that the fragrance will spoil quicker? Why do companies like Mugler and Slumberhouse make fragrances without caps? I think these companies know more about the product they're selling than some guy with a YouTube channel. Blind leading the blind.

I know you buy testers so your going to support your side. I don't buy testers so I'm going to support my side. It's not worth an argument. We both have the right to believe what we want to believe, and quite frankly my belief is contrary to yours.

Always get the big one...regardless on whether or not it is a tester. This is just my own personal opinion.

I remember you correcting me because I thought testers were slightly used. In the process you mentioned every tester you have bought was never sprayed. So that's why I said that, I saw you several times post about testers. Can you not rebuttal this post?

I only buy testers if they have a cap. Not because I think caps preserve the fragrance, but because I don't like the look of a bottle without a cap.

Some Basenoters, including myself have willingly and gladly offered their empty Creed bottle caps to others at no cost to those who might have a need for them.

What's the purpose for the bb in creed sprayers? I've got two theories 1. To prevent air from entering through the tube. 2. To prevent air/juice from escaping.. since creed uses natural ingredients i'm thinking theirs possibly gases created from fermintation. Which would explain why it takes a sec for the juice to come out after you push the spray button.. it pushes the bb down to release the pressurized juice. Again just a theory. Thoughts?

+1 especially Ceeed caps. There are a number of fragrances out there that don't come with caps.

But personally I wouldn't play too much attention to someone whom spends more money on fragrances then their own living accommodations.

Hello all. I need some opinions on a bottle of Royal Scottish Lavender that I recently purchased.

It does not have a Lot or Reference # written on the box OR the bottle. There is just a year imprinted on the back of the box, towards the top, 2002.

Can anyone else who owns RSL chime in?

Default How does fragrancenet get new batches of creed?

How does this happen is supposedly only NM or the boutiques get these fresh batches? How would fragrancenet or any other well known online shop end up with these new batches? You often hear that these online places get stuck with old batches and therefore can sell for cheap but I have a 2014 batch of creed and have heard of many others with 2013 batches of creeds getting then from here. Anyone know how this all works? Thanks!

I think it's reasonable to say fragrancenet sells more 4 oz Creed bottles than NM, Saks, and other retailers in that neighborhood. They push ALOT of quantity, which is why the prices are so cheap. There was a thread discussing how their business revolves around high traffic which allows them to get away with such low cost, where as most other retailers are relying on less traffic but a heftier price. That being said it makes sense that they have new stock, as I could imagine they're constantly re-upping their supplies. Personally I was never concerned with the whole "receiving old stock" complaint when it comes to buying from fragrancenet. I mean think about how many bottles of popular frags such as Creed that they sell. I highly doubt they have anything from 2011 and even 2012 left in their warehouse

But would the creed factory sell it to them that inexpensive? Especially when actual creed stores sell the stuff for 300+???

I spoke to customer service from fragrancenet. The woman told me the get their bottles from several different sources, which is why some bottles still have the creed logo on the atomizer and some do not. That being said I'm unsure if fragrancenet buys there stock straight from Creed. But even if they did, think about the bulk that they are taking off of their hands. Whoever fragrancenet buys their products from -- they still make money. The mark up on fragrances is HUGE plus when buying in such heavy quantity your really doing them a favor by selling their product for them. So in my opinion, fragrancenet just helps turn over the mass quantity they produce. With the many bottles sold at full retail, plus the many bottles sold at a discounted price, Creed is racking in mad $$$

Hey nKelly95. I was reading your posts about your dissatisfaction with your bottle of GIT. I bought mine of fragrancenet and have a similar issue. First of all my box has the same writing on the back as yours. at first i thought it was incorrect spelling therefore fake, but as i read on i realized that it is correct as they have changed the verbage on the back. Do you have a pic of the front of your GIT box to show?

Also, about the scent itself. Although the box and bottle looks to be 100% legit (if it is a fake it's a mighty fine replica) the juice smells different. It is much more green and the drydown isn't that soft ambergris/sandlewood that I got from a sample. I am starting to think that I infact have real GIT but it's possible that 2014 GIT is reformulated. Is your 2014 too? Did you return it?

This is what my box looks like. Please note there is no 1760 under Creed on the front. I don't know if that's a big deal or not.

Here are some more in case those others weren't clear enough. Does this box look like yours? Anyone else confirm that this is a real box. Also i notice that it doesn't mention ambergris on the back anymore. is this perhaps because they no longer use ambergris or perhaps are using some cheap synthetic ambergris in more recent formulas? Sometimes i think I spend to much time investigating this stuff but would like to have piece of mind.

Not to be rude, but you've asked this same exact question before and it was answered. Yes, it's a real box. All you had to do was look through this thread. Here's one post that addresses it:

Scroll down to #649 for the back of a new Aventus box. They made minor changes on the front and back (including the wording) of all boxes. I doubt it has anything to do with changing ingredients or formulas. You are correct that you spend too much time investigating this stuff. Just enjoy your juice.

Literally right after I shipped mine back someone posted a bottle of Aventus bought from the Creed Boutique and it was the same as mine in terms of what I thought were issues. Following that someone called the Creed Boutique and they confirmed the recent changes. I was so mad that I didn't hear that just an hour earlier, cuz now I still don't have my bottle back yet

You bought it from fragrancenet so it is real. Period.

Also, its crazy that fragnet already has 2014 batches. Some people claim that GIT changes/deepens/gets stronger over time. That may be the why your brand new batch smells a little different.

I read that already but I guess my concern is the front of my box not saying melliseme and also the word "creed" doesn't have "1760" under it. But the more research i do the more i'm realizing is that my juidce is infact real. I think the problem is that I really would like some of the 2011-2012 long lasting juice and the 2014 batch isn't doing it just yet. I am going to store it and spray iit on a couple times a week hoping that oxygen can turn this into a better and longer lasting cologne.

I just wish that someone else other than me could give an opinion of this years batch. i suppose in time we will hear things though. I will keep you all updated as the months roll by to let you know if this juice opens up and develops over time. Thanks again everyon!
