Default The Darkest Scent - A*Men Pure Leather

Pure Leather arrived in the mail today.

The packaging says not to spray it on light coloured clothing.
That makes it the darkest scent I own - it forces me to wear dark clothing if I want to wear it!

Have any of you come across other scents with such advice on the packaging?
    Regards,
    Renato

I know that SL Sarrasins stains like wine. I don't recall this on the box, but can anyone add to this?

Explicit warnings like that - not that I can recall.

Thanks. Interesting to know there is one that definitely stains.

Thanks. If you haven't seen such a warning before, I suspect that not many others would have either.

I think Dirty English came with a warning about staining clothes.

Can't think of any. Wish I knew you wanted a bottle of PL. I had a bottle to swap.

I was going to say the same thing - DE has that warning if memory serves.

But personally I don't recall any fragrance ever staining anything. But I usually spray under my clothing, not directly on.

That's great at least they're posting it because there are other dark-to/ light amber color frags that will stain white or light gear and there is no warning posted...kudos to TM for advising beforehand....peace

Many Slumberhouse fragrances, particularly Norne in their extrait versions; Juniperridge's couple of cologne's are super concentrated and one is even sticky (maybe even NK Incense) - these i will never spray on my skin & wear light clothing - definite staining possible.

As for A*Men Cuir - my flanker / packaging does not have such a warning. Actually it does not stain, I remember wearing it a few times with light colored clothing, no issues...

Hmmm - I bought a tester of Dirty English, so never saw any warning.
I'll be sure to check out the package next time I come across one.

Prior to a recent reformulation from a dark brown juice to clear juice (with their signature lion on the bottle), Express Reserve had this warning.

And to be honest, Express Reserve is not a bad scent at all. Like many Express products, it's well-made; if you want a smoother, longer lasting version of D&G The One for Men, Express Reserve is for you. Still, I find it funny that a fragrance from a clothing store - and one that regularly sells light and brightly-colored dress shirts and polos, no less - would have such a warning on the box.

Yes, TM are a considerate lot.
Shame their Inner Circle club doesn't extend out to Australia.

Thanks. But you have me puzzled - what is A*men Cuir?
I'll have to go looking for it.

Yes I've always like A*men a lot, but never found it wearable other than for going out nights.
I've mainly been using B*men when in the mood for Mugler stuff, but recently got Pure Malt, Pure Havane and now Pure Leather and find them all more wearable than the original (possibly because I think the drydown after a few hours is somewhat feminine).

Thanks. Interesting to see that we now have several scents identified as having this warning - though I've never seen or heard of Express Reserve.

Thanks. This is most curious, I went to that link and found everyone talking about "Pure Leather"

And the packaging of the bottle I bought says "Pure Cuir Pure Leather".

So where does this " Les Parfums de Cuir" come into it if it's not on the outer package? Do I have newer packaging?
    Regards,
    Renato

Hey Renato. As much as I wanted to like it, I just couldn't get over the plastic smell in the first hour or so. The drydown is pretty good though.

Interesting thanks. I can't say I've noticed a plastic smell, but whatever it is that you dislike and obviously don't mind?
    Cheers,
    Renato

Thanks. Certainly makes it hard to look Pure Leather up in either the Fragrance Directory or at Fragrantica, since it doesn't exist at either by that name.
