Default Fall/Winter Fragrance for Physically Active Days?

    Hi everyone -

As a photographer, my days vary widely. Shooting days (either on location or in the studio) are physical labor intensive, post production days are spent in front of a computer and on some days, I'm taking meetings in a corporate environment. I used to work in corporate before making the switch to full time photography, so I've got those bases covered.

Being relatively new to fragrances, trying to choose the right scent for shoot days in the fall and winter months has been a bit of a challenge.

That said, I'd love to hear any suggestions you guys may have for an appropriate fall/winter scent for active, sometimes sweaty days.

    Thank you!

Bleu de Chanel. It shines in colder weather and works very well with the active body.

I take kind of a different approach. I don't care if it's cold out or not, and particularly if you're in the studio or any building, it will be temperature-controlled anyway, it will be on your neck and not have to get through a thick jacket or whatever. When I'm active, I love wearing really fresh scents, they make me feel fresh and energized, and no one around you who is also being active wants to smell something heavy. So, doesn't matter the weather, I'm going with something like: Dior Homme Sport, Allure Homme Sport, Armani Code Sport, Herrera 212, YSL Rive Gauche, Clinique Happy, Prada Amber. For active days, I avoid almost everything anyone will suggest to you as a fall or winter scent.

I would say go with something simple and yet wearable year-round: Terre d' Hermes

I like a fragrance that radiates when the body is in extreme motion my thoughts go to Jaipur pour Homme and Ambre Sultan. Perhaps even Santal Noble.

    L'eau D'issey by Miyake....considering fall-winters in S.California are mild in comparison to NYC ...

If I know I'm getting a little sweaty, I'll reach for Armani Code Sport. It's nothing like the original, quite long lasting for a sport and right up there with DHS IMO...it just doesn't get much love here.

    +1 Terre d'Hermes
    +1 Bleu

I don't personally love either, but like them both well enough. I agree with the "simple yet wearable year-round" comment. I don't think either would start to feel oppressive during the "sweaty and active" days as other, heavier winter-type scents might.
