Default Layering: Aventus and Tuscan Leather. It is good.

I cannot take credit for this. The idea came from GentlemensCorner1914 on youtube. Actually technically he says it came from someone else first...Anyway, if interested start at 11:50. I know a lot of people are opposed to layering but this one really works IMO.

I'd almost be afraid to layer these because they're both extremely strong.

Will have to try this out. This recipe combines two of my most favorite things, Aventus and cocaine.

Huh. Aventus... AND... Tuscan Leather. At once.

Sounds like a fun experiment, but talk about sensory overload. Not something I'd try for the first time before going in to work. Thx for the heads-up though.

In all seriousness, point taken regarding layering, and this entire thread is at the risk of flaming. The thing is I don't really care because this one works for me. If no one else takes to it I guess it will be a unique signature. Just throwing this out there to share.

It sounds very interesting but I must admit I never experiment in layering. I am sure it give you a different perspective on two good scents becoming one.

The pineapple of Aventus mixed in with the raspberry note of Tuscan leather. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. lol

I've never layered anything. I'm always assuming they've done a better job blending than I will. These two are both great on their own, but I wouldn't want to mix them.

I'm not a big fan of layering, but maybe I'll try it out. My first impression is that TL would totally overwhelm Aventus. Then again, maybe it all depends on my "weak" (?) Aventus batch - etc. etc. etc.

The first guinea pig should report in.

How about Tuscan Leather + Tobacco Vanille? Leather + Tobacco = Man Smell, but I'm curious which would overwhelm the other!

The Tuscan leather does dominate the blend a bit, but the Aventus still blends very well and adds the effect of pineapple and black currant. This goes perfectly well with the raspberry. That being said I'm going to try it again this weekend with 2 sprays Aventus, one TL and see what that does. Will report back.

    Layering, mixing, blending...

I am surprised by how many people say they do not do this. You are missing out that's for sure.

I have achieved the best results compliments wise by layering or mixing and blending.

One of my faves is TdH and Hypnose blended with Encre Noir. It's a masculine bomb.

Can't wait to try this one. Love Aventus and Tuscan Leather.

Seems odd to me. Both very strong scents. What's next, 1 Million + Interlude Man?

Maybe I'll give it a try some time though. Thanks for the tip!

Forgive me for the necro bump guys, but Aventus and Tuscan Leather really does work well layered, imho. I normally hate the idea of layering fragrances, but somehow this combo works wonders.

Just curious - how many sprays of each do you use?

One on each wrist, with a very slight pressing together. The TL is dominant, but the Aventus influence is unmistakable. I'm using the 2015 U11 Aventus if that helps, btw.

Never layered before but since I had a sample of Tuscan leather, and it's thanksgiving... I gave this a try. It's really damn good haha. Sprayed each twice on my neck and chest.

I've always found Cocaine to smell like Petrol. Wouldn't want to layer it with Aventus.

Actually it kinda makes sense. The smokier varieties of aventus had a birch tar note. That same single note from what I understand is the same kind of birch that gives Fahrenheit its leather smell. Ive worn Fahrenheit at times and it reminded me of certain aspects of aventus. Granted they smell nothing alike but you will get a whiff of something in both that is similar and the birch is what I think they have in common. And some have reported in the past that they got a petroleum vibe from the smokier aventus batches. I know I did. Almost like gasoline. I miss that.

I didn't actually wear this combination as I don't have Tuscan leather anymore but I have la yuqawam and I put the atomizers up to my nose of it and aventus and I can totally understand why some would like the blend of these two. Smelling them separately you cant even begin to understand why they would work well together. But then you actually smell the combination and they have something in common that marries well with each other. I still say the best scent to pair Tuscan leather with is tobacco vanille.

I just had a thought: what if you wanted your Aventus to smell a bit more pineapple-y, and so you layered your Aventus with perhaps a DIY pineapple-only fragrance? Like getting your own quality pineapple fragrance oil and make a fragrance spray out of it, just to spray on top of an Aventus application?
