Default If I like Heritage..I will like?

I am super picky with men's scents, many or most I just don't care for from the ones I've sniffed. I do, however, seem to like Heritage.

I don't like sweet, vanilla, heliotrope or aquatics...or cinnamon. So, Egoiste is out.

So, I will like what other ones, you think? Besides perhaps Polo Green?

Here's what my mini looks like, not sure if it's the modern formulation or not, guessing it's modern.

    Thanks!.

Zino (davidoff) and Bois du Portugal (Creed) is said to be very similiar to heritage.

A friend said that Raquets Forumla (Penhaligons) has the same vibe too

Would also agree that Zino by Davidoff should be tried.

I think you would like Giorgio for Men by Giorgio Beverly Hills. A strong Patchouli and Amber concoction with a floral middle.

Cuero La Martina, a sort of fresh Heritage (with all the differences of course).

Perhaps also from the house of Guerlain: Habit Rouge, Muchoir de Monsieur and LIDGE. Some of them may have some marginal notes of vanilla and cinnamon, but that harmoniously and finely blended, that they are not overpowering nor even partly dominant.

    Egoiste.

The cinnamon isn't very present IMHO - for me it's primarily Sandalwood + Rose, and it's stunning. It and Heritage are both are excellent examples of using sandalwood and other notes to create a top-notch fragrance. At the very least, get a decant.

I don't think Heritage is similar to other Guerlains - rather it's kind of a synthesis of the best of their house. I'm not sure I'd recommend Habit Rouge for you (due to the vanilla note) or LIDGE (which is good but waaaay different.) Maybe the EdP version of HR (I own the one in the red leather bottle.)

I can't recommend PdN NY - it's smells nothing like Heritage, and I was told by a woman whose opinion I respect that I smelled like an old woman and should not wear it. (She loves it when I wear Heritage - in fact her mother is a Guerlain fan who wears Shalimar and Samsara, so good taste runs in her family!)

I'll throw out another fragrance that has a similar vibe though - Hermes Equipage.

I love Heritage, and i got also in my collection that may get some similarities : Rocabar from Hermes, a little bit sweeter, more caramel less powdery, and Allure de Chanel, same nice floral less spicy more lemon. Besides that you still can go Guerlain higher price perfume and check Arsene Voyou or Bois d'Armenie.

Thanks for all the recs guys!!

I believe it's the modern composition that I sniffed? I put a photo on the original post of what my mini looks like.

Since the picture shows the EDT, try the EDP version. Also, hedonist had a good suggestion for Coriolan.

Great recommendations thus far. I second the Rocabar, Bel Ami, and BdP. I have them all plus have owned Heritage but got rid of it as I felt Heritage was too sweet. To me it was like a stronger Obsession for men. I will add that I wear Opium pour home edt and enjoy that. I like the drier less sweet vanilla in this one. Worth a sniff.

Tried the Zino, there was a bit more patchouli than Heritage I think..a bit too much patch, though, my husband and I kind of liked it. Just a wee too much patch. I got more florals from Hertiage which I liked. May try some others mentioned. Thanks again guys!.

I think it's a safe bet you will also like Krizia Moods Uomo, which has a lot of patchouli with some rose and other floral notes. It bears some resemblance to Heritage but it is a quieter fragrance overall. It also has an earthiness to it that reminds me of the smell of kasha.

You might like Boucheron Jaipur EDP but IMO nothing compares to Heritage. Heritage is a wonderful classic but unfortunately the modern formulation is too light for my tastes.

Yes, I was just thinking of that one. At least, it should be sampled. Very high quality fragrance with some similarities to both Heritage and Bois du Portugal.
