Default Any chance that Guerlain mislabeled my sample?

Last night I dabbed some of Bois D'Armenie sample on my hand. I have read that this fragrance is supposed to be a smokey, woody fragrance, but all I got from it was a powdery, kinda soapy vanilla. Can someone who has tried this confirm with me? Btw, I absolutely love it and I am loving Guerlain right now.

Maybe I am mistaking the soapiness for the burning paper accord?

I don't seem to get the soapiness you have experienced

I think you ARE smelling Bois d'Armenie. It's very Guerlain, creamy and sweet, vaguely "perfumey", and not smoky. If you were expecting something like the CDG Incense series, it's absolutely not like that. Instead, it's more like what you'd get adding benzoin and frankincense to a Guerlinade accord.

It took a long time to grow on me, because I was expecting something smoky and dark and got something more like a creamy sweet amber, but it's worth investing the time to get to know...

l got powdery vanilla/ benzoin from it too, but not soapiness. Like rogalal, l found it very soft, & not at all edgy or dark.
