    Default Matching fragrance with clothes

There's an infographic about fragrance from a certain imageboard:

Disregarding the actual advice in the infographic, I want to know what people think about matching fragrance with clothes. A lot of fragrance reviews mention whether it's something you should wear casually, or with a suit. But does it make sense to match fragrances with your sense of personal style, or is it mostly just marketing suggestion?

I always take clothing into consideration. I wore Coromandel today with sexy black top and nice jewelry. If I dressed down I would possibly choose a Diptyque.

I personally don't match my clothes to the fragrance I choose to wear or vice versa but I see nothing strange or wrong in doing so.

    No.
I usually wear a frag based on mood-weather or just something I have not worn for some time

I guess you can wear what you want in whatever apparel you decide to wear, but IMO, nice gear goes well with nice scent better as it accentuates your confidence as well as an adorning accessory ..is like a cherry in the top of a gorgeous dressed banana float...lol

I take a more synesthetic approach to perfume/clothing- All of my fragrances have a "color" or a texture in my mind, and I'm happiest if I can match that to my clothing.

Ha ha, that link is hilarious! And probably not in the way he intended. But there are some good little nuggets of advice towards the bottom of the page.

l too tend to take more account of the colour than the style of my clothing, but the biggest influence on my choice is the weather, followed by my mood.

I wouldn't normally wear something classical with a T and jeans

I always match fragrance with clothes. Some fragrances comes off as light, airy, some dark, sexy, seducing. Let's say, I wouldn't rock Fahrenheit with light blue shirt. But I definitely wear it with black leather jacket or dark coloured suit or t-shirt.

Never was too strict about this. Of course, too casual clothes are difficult to wear with extremely formal fragrances and vice-versa, but certain light, fresh, citrus based classic EDC may for instance work very well with a sportier outfits, at least in my opinion.

I agree withe the above, In the end Ill mostly wear whatever Im craving, But some combinations crosses some kind of line for me.. If I wear unisex scents verging on butch, Im not going to but on baggy jeans and a white tee..Or the skanky bombs with a miniskirt.. it would project something out of my character.
But I like matching fragrance and clothing , it is enchancing your personal presence/statement to me.
