    Hi everyone,

Mike admiring that flacon from afar. I enjoyed Fleurs de citronniers and it’s going on the buy list. I’m just looking for something different, a little more summery nothing seems to be hitting the spot.

ExtremeK keep missing you, crazy busy at work too. Enjoyed reading your sum up of 2013 (go M!) Have you tried Antaeus? It might be a Chanel you like .

Twolf your mince pie sounds delish especially with a ristretto. The Italian side of the family have introduced me to the treasure that is zabaglione laced ristrettos, yum!

    Nice digs Jon!

Silver Musk today and Une Fleur de Cassie tonight.

    Morning all!

l've got a couple of days off, & a few errands to run today. Sampling lncense Pure by Sonoma Scent Studio.

Jon; lovely pics! And l'm afraid your showers don't sound quite as bad as the wild, stormy night we had here. Several areas of the north are flooded & without power again today. The sun is out so far here this morning, though.

    Hello everyone -

I couldn't resist - I'm in Penhaligon's Iris Prima from my pretty new bottle, hee! I'm actually not entirely sure the wee ballerinas will appreciate this one ...it's not sweet and it's not even very *girlie*. It's very leathery and there's a hefty dose of vetiver, but it's not rough or smoky ...it's elegant and smooth, and quite irissy too, so at least I like it, which is news since this is my first time wearing it. I'm quite pleased so far.

    Y'all have a fantastic day!

A sunny, cold day here, and I'm wearing In Love Again.

It's chilly in the house again, as the oil tank is being installed (boiler went in last week). And they're finally replacing the defective water heater they put in last week.

It's been a wild week with Mom. She threw a public tantrum, shouting at the caregiver in the communal Dining Room on Tuesday evening-- I got a call about it from the director of nursing. Oh, joy. Then Tuesday night I got 2 middle of the night calls from the caregiver, and had to talk Mom down and persuade her to return to bed. She says her back hurts (although on any given day it could be her shoulder, or knee, or hip, or head...).

But she spends most of her day in her recliner, and it's going on 4 years old, so yesterday I decided to take her to get a new one. A more supportive chair can't hurt and might help. This one fits her better, too-- it's even smaller than the last one. Her legs are so short that most chairs are too deep.

TWolf - I love chocolate covered figs. I bought some from Whole Foods about a year ago (maybe they were from Spain, I can't remember) and I think I ate the whole box in a couple days. Mine's were dark chocolate. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.
Roberto - you're wearing the new Hermes! How is it????
Evangeline - those pictures are great. The Penhaligon's sounds like something I would like. Is it very root-y (which I like)?

Ohhh, Mrs. E, another iris I will need to try. That one sounds very nice actually.

I'm doused in L'Artisan Havana Vanille this morning. I wore this quite a bit over Thanksgiving, and I am still kind of on a roll with it. It is hitting a good spot lately, although I tend to go on and off with it.

Mike, thank you for the info about your sandalwood hits and misses. Now I need to add Santal de Mysore & Santal Blanc to my list to try. Also, I got a compliment on the Santal Majuscule from one of the warehouse guys yesterday. I think my skin works well with sandalwood so I'm going to give some of these a whirl. Of course I love me some skank, so the Bois de Santal is getting added. And if you and XScent both love Fleurs de Citronnier, then I know I have to try that too!

I'm running around like a chicken with her head cut off given that the switchover is now less than 2 weeks away. I am not ready, not in the slightest. Why did I decide it was ok to switch our computer systems over as of January 1??!!

I'm wearing MFK Apom today and my isn't it pretty? Thing is, it's not JUST pretty, there's something else going on there. But I'm slow on the uptake so it may take a bit. It's got some warmth and creaminess to it, some hint of skin. I'm really enjoying it.

30Roses, again, love to you and your mom. I'm constantly impressed with your strength and patience.

    Hi, everyone!

Another quick post - Hope things slow down just a touch in the days ahead... I feel like I've missed a ton of stuff here on BN!

Today testing Neela Vermeire Creations' Mohur from a sample. Lots going on there, and I feel like I'm not completely "getting it" yet, though it's very nicely constructed and not throwing notes all over the place. I definitely like it, and the "Indian dessert" notes are lovely, especially in this cold weather. It just hasn't knocked my socks off on first sniff. Definitely need to investigate further.

    Wishing everyone a thrilling Thursday!

Mohur Notes: Cardamom, coriander, ambrette, carrot, black pepper, elemi, Turkish rose oil, jasmine, orris, hawthorn, almond milk accord, leather, sandalwood, amber, patchouli, oudh Palao from Laos, benzoin, vanilla, tonka bean.

Yesterday, in your honour, I tested Habit Rouge- current version: how I like it!!!! The opening, the heart and the drydown are definitely in my chords! It wouldn't fall in my brown category, though...

    You're smelling definitely great!

Has the world really gone this mad? All I can put it down to is somebody put carbs or sugar in Nole's food.

Hi there, (((Sea Roses))) PM sent, sweetie. (I know it's little consolation, but you smell deeeeeee-vine!)

    Hey again, y'all -

I'm in L'Arte di Gucci for the evening ...y'all have a good one!

Mike, cello, Foustie and Jon - the Iris Prima is definitely something y'all might really like, though it's not so very "rooty", which to me always means "carrot-y", and there's a touch of that but not much. It's more of a powdery or makeup-y iris than an earthy one, but to be honest I need to pay more attention to it next wearing before saying too much more. The longevity's not ultra-great, and it slipped away before I could get it know it very well ...but I enjoyed it while I was aware of it!
