    Default Beginner to Fragances

I am a newcomer to basenotes and to really using colognes and I was wondering if you guys could give me some recommendations. I am 29 years old, work in a professional setting at a bank. I was looking for recommendations on:

    1 casual/sport cologne
    1 daytime/work/ cologne
    1 nighttime cologne

I was looking looking to spend $40-$80 on each and because I live in a seasonal weather place here in VA, I was hoping for fall/winter and spring/summer recommendations for each.

    Thanks in advance everyone!

Welcome to you! I'll suggest three. Others will follow with many more. Good luck!

    Dior Homme Sport
    Bleu De Chanel
    Midnight in Paris

    Welcome

for fresh/casual, vetivers are fresh and green, and I think work really well in the heat (I live in DC). Most cost a bit more than your price point. But things like Guerlain Vetiver and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver are in the neighborhood. They also work well for daytime/work.

For nighttime, you could do something warmer, resins. Bulgari Black has a fun rubber note. Aramis 900 is rich with patchouli. Caron Yatagan (not easy to find, but not expensive) has a deep woody base over an opening green blast.

It seems I was already beaten to my suggestions of Dior Homme Sport (classiest sport fragrance ever-my signature) and Bleu de Chanel but i'll add something as well. L'Homme for work, La Nuit de L'Homme for night (the two compliment each other quite nicely). Dior Homme would also fi the bill.
Well enjoying what you're wearing is crucial, it is of the utmost importance to wear something that others like as well.

    Welcome!

For sport/casual: Vetivers! or Prada Amber Pour Homme (soapy - very clean).
For work: Cartier Déclaration d'Un Soir (rose), Terre d'Hermes (citrus), Fan Di Fendi (sweet leathery).
For nighttime: L'Instant De Guerlain Extreme, Dior Homme Intense, Jaipür Homme…

    Enjoy sampling!

    Two quick questions

    1. What does everyone think about Le Male ? One of my co workers recommended it to me

    2. Are the value sets that you can buy at the different department stores worth it ?

So many good recommendations. I'll throw Lalique White out there for daytime wear.
