Question Anyone smell Ramon Monegal's Mon Patchouly?

This smells like fish heads sauteed with carpet cleaner solution; it's extremely repulsive.

But its priced at $175 for 1.7 OZ, so I'm assuming someone likes this.

I don't get fish or carpet cleaner from this thank god. Instead I get a nice mix of patchouli & jasmine joined together in harmony with hints of geranium, amber and just a touch of incense. I find it nice but quite strong and linear.

This is a strong, bold fragrance and it is NOT a patchouli genre scent - yes it is misnamed - so test it well before buying. Mon Patchouly is a jasmine fragrance, mostly, that is full of indoles, which I like, together with an amber base and sharpness of patchouli creates a leather feel after the opening. Patchouli is fuel to the fire but never overcomes the jasmine dominance. A strong fragrance with high quality ingredients, but an example of a misleading name for a fragrance. "Mon Jasmine" probably would not sell as well.

Never tried it myself, but interesting how this is perceived in different ways by different people. For perfumeshrine, it's a boozy amber

(though interestingly she does mention the word slightly repelling).

I sampled two Ramon's yesterday: Mon Cuir and Agar Musk. Both lasted damn near 12 hours on me, both evolved into curiously different scents, and both are something worth having to vary your collection --if you've got the cash!

I post because RM deserves a little more credit to it's design.

I'm new to the scene so I probably don't get it yet. But I'm not sure which occasion you can wear this. I cant fathom wearing this for work or school. This could be offensive.

I tried it when sampling various patchoulis and found it good. But not good enough to purchase a FB. No fish heads or carpet cleaner, blessedly.
