Some fragrances are known for a plethora of flankers, but I am sometimes surprised by others. Givenchy, for example, has at least 18 versions of Insensé (only a very small subset of which I have ever seen) and 26 versions of Very Irresistible....

With that many flankers and flankers of flankers, I don't get how they aren't just slapping new labels on the same juice. That many variations has to be extremely redundant, smell wise.

I have found quite a few I like better than the original, and that causes the desire to check them all out, maybe I will find another. Perhaps that's the purpose

Depends on your nose but yeah, I agree - most will not be able to tell them apart. I have come across redundancy with Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey flankers numerous times.

I understand that Cool Water is Davidoff's big draw, so most of what they do is going to go flanker to that. Makes sense from a marketing sense, but at the same time, they've stepped way over the line of buyer fatigue. If you go the WalMart route, maybe you sell more at the lower price. But the sales stream and availability to the mass mass shopper makes up for the low price. If you're raking in the dough, do you really care about your reputation in the frag community?
But I'd rather see them slow things down and pull the reigns back on it's availability. Not that that matters, after all, I can get Fahrenheit from WalMart as well.
