That looks like a nice collection. What was the dog's reaction, if any?
Actually arrived yesterday - it's a Public Holiday today in the U.K.
LM Parfums samples (one unfortunately 'borrowed' by youngest dog...).
That looks like a nice collection. What was the dog's reaction, if any?
Purchased to day on ebay: vintage Diorella EdT mini. I had to after reading about it re: the perfume/garbage connection in American Hustle.
What do insomniac perfumers do to fall asleep? They count chypres!
Perfumes from Lebanon (3 of 1).jpg
Technically purchased late December while I was in Lebanon. Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca 4.2oz in the original box and 1 oz Le Feu d'Issey Light for $50 and $40 respectively hidden in the shelves of a small perfume shop in Jounieh. Also, Serge Lutens A La Nuit purchased kind of impulsively for MSRP--I was aware I could have gotten it much cheaper if I had waited but I don't always want to be sensible.
In the mail is Hermés Un Jardin sur le Toit. Reviews peg this one as an herbal grassy fragrance but when I tested it on myself, what I got was the most delectable cucumber which I haven't seen mentioned in any of the reviews so perhaps I imagined it. Looking forward nonetheless.

Well done, JamesBeach - cool picture too!
D.S. and Durga -- Hylnds Spirit of the Glen.
I don't know much about medicine, but I know what I like. -- S.J. Perelman
Micallef's bespoke for Parfumerie Nasreen, called Nasreen. It is a rose, saffron, honey and oud scent. Won't get it for another 2 months (it was on pre-order) but looking forward to it.
Creed Fleurs de Bulgarie but I have to say I'm disappointed. The jus is crystal clear & that is definitely NOT what I've seen of this fragrance in the past.. Even the tester on the counter contained amber colored jus.
A Lab on Fire What We do in Paris is Secret. Very excited to get this one.
Carthusia GELSOMINI DI CAPRI edp & VIA CAMERELLE edp. (Purchased in Dec 2013 but haven't gotten them yet.)
Caron- Narcisse Noir, EDT. It smells delightfully fresh, too! And nice and strong.
Ordered a Slumberhouse sampler set after reading the Slumberhouse discussion thread. Can't wait to test them out when they arrive.
15 lovely ml of vintage Bal à Versailles parfum arrived today. Intoxicating! I already have a bottle of the vintage EdC. Now if I can find the vintage EdT, I can wear BaV like Jean Desprez originally intended -- absolutely reeking!

Rose Nacree du Desert by Guerlain
Bois Farine by L'artisan
Peoneve by Penhaligon
I believe you got some good ones there, Coconut! Congrats!
Drove through Dallas yesterday and stopped at the famous Harry Hines Blvd where I picked up the following. The prices are pretty awesome.
50 ml Swiss Arabian Mahbobty
50 ml Swiss Arabian Zahra
100 ml Dzing
Alll for under $200
Also paid normal for 50ml of Chamre Noir and acquired a load of great samples from Frederic Malle, Arquiste, Nasamotto and Olfactive Studio while at Forty Five Ten being helped by the amazingly knowledgeable and friendly Dylan. Great day for perfume.

Very nice danieq!
I had been waiting for a good deal on Burberry London for a while, but finally decided to pull the trigger... Before they discontinue... Before they decide to reformulate...
Now I need to hunt a bottle of Antidote for myself...
Two super cheapies for me online deals.
Lolita Lempicka original edp
Halston Classic Cologne
The first is a blind buy for me, the second I own a purse spray which says perfume on it and nearly finished.
Le Dix - small parfum, arrived yesterday,
Nice photos, Hedonist. and some lovely swag, too!
I scored a bottle of Aoud Queen Roses

Creed Royal Water from base noter. So beautiful & rather under appreciated I think.
Others which I purchased in December but which shipped to my home where I wasn't for a month include.
Serge Lutens Clair de Musc, Filles en Aiguilles, Santal Majuscule
PHI Une Rose de Kandahar
Sud Pacifique Aqua Motu
Comme des Garçons Incense Series: Jaisalmer
Elie Saab Le Parfum
Marni by Marni
Marni is a new love of mine, a beautiful addition to the incense rose family. A shame it hasn't been added to the Basenotes directory yet (as of my last check).
Nothing arrive yet, just ordered on the morning
Yohji Yamomoto Essential (hopefully the old version as not sure I like the new one)
S.T. Dupont Intese

Finally came on in a purchased Ambre 114. After about 6 months of sampling.
Nice acquisitions, all, some bargains too boot. Danieq I must find that farmhouse and JamesBeach if I ever get to Jounieh.... Xscent I will definitely be spanking my wrists.
Here's a pic of a motley crew. I took the plunge and almost bought out Demeter! if only in 0.5 oz sizes, here lined up in a phalanx of glass warriors. Barely visible in the back are my Slumberhouses in their sacks, including the new one, Ore. Gorilla's Lust and Tuca Tuca are there, but I plan to find them new owners. Not KM's beautiful Boise de Santal or Malle's breathtaking En Passant. They're home.
danieq, I live in Dallas! What farmhouse? Where is it?
Hedonist, lovely pictures!
“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron.”
― Dwight D. Eisenhower
Blasts from the past. I wore Fendi ten years ago. My mother wore the super-green Trigère in the 80s, and it brings back a lot of memories. Continuing on the green theme, the divine Coriandre, which I wore in high school (a little young for it!). I'm pretty sure this parfum is pre-reformulation (clear bottle versus frosty, and a wonderful scent--thoughts anyone?)
I love Fendi now it is d/c and crazy expensive. Is that bottle almost empty :-( ? Coriander sounds divine but it is one I have never been able to find! :-(
Kumquat--No, it is completely FULL (and in very good condition!).
Oh good! You are lucky, then. I was concerned. I've noticed these are so pricy now. Thank goodness you didn't get one that was almost spent!
Just now.. Before it vanishes

Chicagoista, I've just found a vintage bottle of Coriandre perfume. A tiny one. I got it on Ebay. It was the only one that looked like vintage. Fingers crossed. You inspired me. (Around $30 with shipping)
So sorry, that must have been auto-correct. I meant 'Famous'. I purchased at Vogue Perfumes and Beauty Corner on Harry Hines. I wish I'd had time and $$ to go further down the road, but I ran short of both so I'll have to hope for another trip down HH on another occasion.
Ebay buy: Creed Fleurs de Bulgarie. 2.5 oz, they sent me the 1 oz. We're in dispute.
Luckyscent: A Lab on Fire (my first experience with this house) What we do in Paris is Secret. Love it!
And…..a travel size of Electric Molecules Molecule 01. OK but not as good on my skin as I had hoped.
January's purchases (I know there's still a couple of weeks left of the month, but there's always too much month left at the end of the money!):
7.5ml of vintage Miss Dior Parfum (for £5.50!!)
14ml of vintage Miss Balmain Parfum
finally got a bottle of Timbuktu (yay!) and
a blind buy of Aqaba, which is just heavenly.
'I suggest we learn to love ourselves before it's made illegal.'
Yves Rocher Fraicheur Vegetale The Vert
Jon, Yummm! Chypre Palatin. I tried this out on my husband but it wasn't his thing. Too bad. You will love it, I'm sure!
Yesterday I bought a 15ml of vintage Tuvara Tuvache on eBay. I loved it in the early '80s--spicy and rich-smelling. I hope it smells as good as I remember when it arrives.
