O.K., so far this month I've gone down the vintage path and have received:

L' Origan PDT - I think it's fairly old because the bottle indicates the maker as Coty only.

Emeraude PDT and Je Reviens Lotion

Look what I got ! Vintage Diorella! Still fighting a nasty head cold, so I can barely smell it, but I'm getting its garbagey floral glory. Plan to wear it when I go to see American Hustle.

My Sin Gift Set by Lanvin from eBay. I wore this in high school. When I put it on it was like meeting an old comfortable friend once again. Maybe someday I'll buy the extract.

Wish the Lanvin version and the new version had separate places in the fragrance directory like the old and new versions of Evening in Paris. This is such a classic.

    Chloe Roses de Chloe

Totally in love with this. It actually smells like roses. I've wanted it for months. The first Chloe scent I've really liked since the original. I usually do not buy rose fragrances and when I do I'm disappointed. This one I love.

danieq, the vintage Emeraude is great stuff and it seems there's still plenty of it. I've been stockpiling!

Betsy, yes, I've gotten stuck on vintage lately.

hedonist, your bottle of Diorella looks impeccable. Is it vintage?

Glad to know somebody understands. Actually, I also wear Mona de Orio Vanille and Parfums de Nicolai Vanille-Tonka, at least this past winter. Which vintage perfumes are you stuck on?

Shalimar, Shalimar, and more Shalimar from several decades, Joy, Emeraude, My Sin, Mitsouko (which I ended up selling), Diorissimo , Evening in Paris, and Weil de Weil. Currently chasing Tabu and White Shoulders at a reasonable price. I would just like to have as many of the classics as I can afford. I have others that are pre-reformulation and it seems if you tell me it has been discontinued I'll be chasing it.

I'm with you Betsy as to the Shalimar and Mitsouko. I remember Emeraude from my younger days and will make a purchase relatively soon. I'm stuck in vintage land just now as well.

Just purchased vintage Weil Antilope yesterday.

I've not tried any Weil perfumes, but there is a definite fan base here on BN. Vintage Shalimar is legendary though I have no idea how it smells. I know the current stuff doesn't grab me. I have a tiny vial of vintage Diorissimo, and it doesn't last long on me, but it is a beauty while it lasts. My. Sin and Evening in Paris are oldies, I know, but there again, no idea how they smell. One of my aunts gave me some My Sin when I was a teenager ( what was she thinking? ), but I don't remember it. I was probably wrapped up in Skinny Dip or Love's Fresh Lemon. What got me started on Emeraude was that it was another one that I wore as a teen, but couldn't quite remember. I think that the thing about vintages is the fun of tracking one down and then actually procuring it. It is a thrill to win an auction though more than half the time I just buy the scent outright. Even though perfume like Emeraude was never as expensive as what is charged on ebay today, it is worth every penny and more for the quality of the fragrance. Of course, that was the intention of Francois Coty - to bring high quality perfume to the masses.

Curly11, I share your thoughts on today's Shalimar. I think it really changed in the early to mid eighties and has only gotten further from the one I fell in love with.

Love's Lemon! ! I use to adore that. Another one for me to be on the look out for.

The names of your new acquisitions have a sort of tribal sound. Weil and Lentheric are houses I've only encountered in my readings about older perfumes. I hope they work out well for you.

Today I received a partial bottle of Je Reviens extrait in a tiny blue bottle. It is an unusual scent, really. I think that it could be categorized as a fantasy floral. The ebay seller refunded $3.00 of my shipping fee because her cost was not as high as she had expected. I thought that was a nice gesture.

I found a good deal for the Dahlia Noir L'Eau (Givenchy) at Galeries Lafayette in France yesterday and added Chypre Orient by Molinard.

Oh, and I still must have a mini bottle of Chunga somewhere, a very strong vintage scent.

Bought a bottle of Coco Mademoiselle for my girlfriend for Valentines day! Time to get her on the fragrance train too
Now, as for that pesky second bottle for her, her every day scent, I'm still deciding between Flowerbomb, Darling by Lucky Brand, Jimmy Choo or Sexual Noir. And to think, I thought it'd be easy for girls to pick out a fragrance

I just read an article about Weil recently, which I can't seem to find now, but it talked of how Weil created fragrances that would work well on Furs because they were originally ferriers. Very interesting article. So the fact that it reminds you of Grandma's furs is quite legitimate.

An 1/8th ounce of Arpege splash in a gold dispenser for your purse. Very pretty for only $1.00 plus shipping on e-bay. Nobody bid on it but me.

Mumsy sent me this sample of Amazone, by Hermès, and this morning I folded and brought a vintage bottle on ebay!
