Never tried Herod, but Tobacco Vanille is a great winter scent. Sort of linear, but a fine fragrance indeed!

I really like Herod, have even been on the verge of purchasing it a few times, but it is just too similar to Back to Black (or was to my nose back then) whereas TV is pretty unique (I haven't tried Phaedon's Tabac Rouge) and is a solid fragrance. Great projection, longevity and the overall scent is simply superb.

Herod for me simply because it smells much better.

Didn't find Herod anything special or comparable to TV. Phaedon's Tabac Rouge, however, is very much comparable to TV.

I don't find Back to Black to be that similar but both are top-scents!

Well comparisons can be tricky, but I was talking about my main frags with sweet Tobacco notes, which all 3 certainly have. That being said I actually find Herod more similar in overall smell to Ambre Narguile than it is to TV or BtB, an AN with tobacco basically. That being said AN still smells much better than Herod so Herod loses to me anyway I slice it...lol

I like Herod best. Herod smells a little like Spicebomb, whereas TV is sweeter. Herod!

Parfums Marly has been largely disappointing for me. I only really liked Lippizan. I haven't tried the new ones.

    + 1 Herod
I have to do a few more tests ( I have a sample) - but so far I liked it.
A full bottle it's a bit too much - but if someone wants a split (in Europe) I might be interesed.

Herod is more wearable on a daily basis but I prefer TV over it..

Having just tried Herod today I can definitely say I prefer this to TV (which I like).

It's like they kept everything I like about Tobacco Vanille and got rid of everything I don't like about it.

TV, it's the type of aftershave that makes me imagine walking in to an old English shop.

Got a decant of Herod recently, and it's very good. TV is not going to be displaced in my wardrobe though, it's still superior.
