Default Best designer release of 2013

What was the best mens' designer release of 2013 and why?

Sahara Noir : because it represents everything i want in an incense scent. It's a pure and unapologetic Frankincense bomb, with much more than frankincense going for it.

Reformulated DHI for the earlier part of 2013....Gorgeous juice ....lol

Now, to address your inquiry, I would say Plum Japonais by Tom Ford(although it is a private blend and consider in part a niche line in its artistic take and own right IMO ...and obviously done by perfumer/designer ; so this in fact is an upper tier designer frag) ...IMHO the best use of plum in a scent by far and bar none thee Best for 2013!!!!

My vote goes to Dsquared's Potion Royal Black - It opens with a masculine fresh dark rose and incense accord that has a slight peppery sweetness from the pimento. Out of this you get hints of leather, tobacco, woods with a dash of oud. And I have to say imo it smells really good.

It also smells much more expensive than it actually is and it gives off a really classy romantic vibe making it perfect for evenings out.

For me, Oud Malaki by Chopard - just a great smelling scent IMO.

I've seen this mentioned a few times. I can't find any brick and mortar stores that stock this and I don't want to blind buy a full bottle :/

^ does it last . Versace Oud Noir smells nice but vanishes into nothingness within the hour.
For me it would be Mancera Black Line (Niche) and Bentley Intense ( Designer)

I would have to go with Bentley for Men Intense. Boozy incense with a nice leather background and cedar makes this one my favortie for 2013. Longevity is a beast. Has that amouage vibe with the incense.

Not a very good year for designer releases.

My 3 favorites (in no order):

    Tom Ford Rive d'Ambre
    Tom Ford Plum Japonais
    Dior Homme Cologne 2013

Classical by Anat Fritz (best designer and best overall, IMO). If excluding it due to its being a rework of Anat Fritz original from 2006, then Bentley for Men Intense gets my vote.
    Current Top Favorites:
    1) Portrait of a Lady (EdP Frédéric Malle)
    2) Giorgio for Men vintage (Giorgio Beverly Hills)
    3) Dia Man vintage edt (Amouage)
    4) Les Nombres d'Or Vetyver (Mona di Orio) - tie
    4) Lalfeorosa (O'driù) - tie

    6) Anat Fritz Original Formula and Classical (Anat Fritz)
    7) Captain vintage (Molyneux)
    8) Tzora (Anat Fritz)

I got a sample today. Love at first sniff! I'm buying a full bottle. It feels like a top of the line niche fragrance, like Amouage. The first spray reminded me of Silver Factory by Bond no.9. Frankincense isn't listed but I swear it's there? My newb nose is probably misleading me.
